Flushing is Burning: Another Boring Baseball Week

from Home Run Applesauce: A New York Mets podcast · host Home Run Applesauce

Another week with very little news. Grace begins by discussing the Mets recent activity, consisting of a few free agent signings, a few minor league signings, and a few waiver claims. She contextualizes the small activity with hope that it won't seem so bad in a few months. She also touches on the finalized coaching staff and gets into the Hall of Fame ballot and the connections to the Mets. Then, she broadens her view to the rest of the league. Shohei Ohtani has not signed, and it has brought the entire offseason to a halt. For an exciting offseason in concept, it sure is boring. There are also rumors around Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Juan Soto, but nothing will happen until Ohtani moves, seemingly. Finally, Grace has another double movie minute, in tribute to her birthday. It's a double feature Grace does annually, featuring two queer Christmas-themed films (one more Christmasy than the other). It's not the world's most cohesive double feature, but it is very Grace.
