Flying Horses

"Let your imagination fly" and "let your imagination run wild" are phrases, when put together, might bring to mind flying horses. Among other meanings, flying symbolises the imagination. Our imagination resides in the place that embodies young children: the unconscious. Among other definitions, horses symbolise the imagination as well. Two Celtic Fairy Tales, in the episode of The Secret Kindergarten, have flying horses. Both of these stories require the flying horses to achieve goals in dangerous epic quests. The imagination is required in life to live fully, take risks and succeed. Fairy tales promote and affirm the imagination. They take us on immersive explorative journeys and are a form of imaginative play.
