Folge 14: (Ach, Du liebe) Güte!

“Edel sei der Mensch, hilfreich und gut; denn das allein unterscheidet ihn von allen Wesen, die wir kennen!” So spricht Goethe und gibt uns damit einen wunderbaren Startschuss für unser neues Thema. Denn nach dem Tod in der letzten Folge dachten wir uns: Du liebe Güte, jetzt brauchen wir was Gutes! 🙂 Wie ambivalent der im landläufigen Gebrauch recht seltene Begriff “Güte” ist, legt schon obiges Zitat nahe, wenn wir es mit Ein Kurs in Wundern betrachten. Ja, wir haben als Menschen die Fähigkeit, “wahrhaft hilfreich” zu sein für uns, den Rest der Menschheit und der Welt dazu. Allerdings schleichen sich gern mal andere Motive ein, der die formale Güte auch dienen kann, wenn man möchte – ohne dass dies noch wahrhaft freundlich, nett, edel oder gütig wäre. Motive mit einem Ziel, das der Kurs mit ‘Besonderheit’ umschreibt und den Unterschied zwischen Personen, Gruppen, Lebewesen usw. betont. Die Warnlampe, wenn Trennung gesehen und wahr gemacht werden soll, geht auch dann an, wenn es sich um vermeintlich edles Verhalten dreht. Nur wird sie da nicht immer gleich erkannt.Wir möchten anhand verschiedener Stellen aus Ein Kurs im Wundern und unseren eigenen Erfahrungen zeigen, dass wir beim Thema Güte gleich noch einen weiteren Goethe-Klassiker bemühen können. Denn es wohnen buchstäblich “zwei Seelen in unserer Brust”, auch dann, wenn es darum geht, einfach nur “nett” zu sein. In Folge 14 sprechen wir außerdem über interessante Hintergründe des englischen Begriffs “kindness”, den wir meist mit Güte wiedergeben, wie das mit der “anderen Wange” ist, die man hinhalten soll, und wie überraschend einen die ‘Werkseinstellung Ego’ auch bei einem ruhigen Picknick an der Isar überraschen kann.
