In this text, Jesus wields His power by taking a posture of humility, for the purpose of restoration by setting a pattern aimed at replication in the lives of His followers. This passage reminds us that nothing will stop Jesus from moving towards us and that ultimately his kindness to us is a function of his love, not our worthiness.
