She also speaks on the need to both expand and deepen followership research to account for a wide range of cultural contexts, variations of language and meaning, and relational dynamics, in order to fully understand the phenomenon of followership in organizations and beyond. “[Followership] is not something that’s defined in a book, but it’s something that happens between people. It’s a social thing.
