The Church has been adopted into the family of heaven through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross (Romans 8:14-17).The Word that makes us part of God’s family is adoption, which is the Greek word “uihothesia” pronounced “hwee-oth-es-ee'-ah”. Here is the definition of adoption:•Adoption Speaks of Covenant Relationship.The same covenant relationship which God is pleased to establish between Himself and the Israelites in preference to all other nations. Adoption brings every single gentile into the same realm of covenant relationship with God. So adoption speaks of bringing the gentiles into the same covenant relationship God had with Israel not a different one. •Adoption is the Receiving of the DNA of God through indwelling of the Holy Spirit.What actually makes you a child of God is the infusion of the DNA of God into you through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit carries the DNA of God which is infused into you. The Old Testament covenant ends at the adoption through covenant but the New Testament believer goes a step further to receiving the very DNA of God which is the Holy Spirit.
