Forgiveness is your lifesaver in recovery
from Recovery is a process of decisions Podcast · host Trent Thomas
We welcome your inspiring comments. Send a textForgiveness is an I attribute. You cannot project forgiveness on an another. If I forgive you, I am saving my own life. Forgiveness stops the negative feelings of stress caused by the actions of a perpetrator. You will always be held hostage to the actions brought about by another. The same is true for forgiveness of oneself. You will never move beyond the inner stress and turmoil caused by your past bad decisions until you first forgive yourself. The forgiveness of yourself is a mirror of the same attribute God shines upon us daily. Forgiveness is a internal life saver to save ourselves. When you forgive someone, it is all for you. Whether a person chooses to forgive you is totally upon them. Whether they forgive you or not has no bearing on your continued existence. All we require is God's forgiveness. It is God who permits us to live each day and with his permission we don't require anyone else's. It is by Gods permission we take our very next breath. Forgiveness is an act of self-preservation. To forgive is to live life free of self-inflected stress and misery. To forgive oneself is to grant permission to live life free, happy and joyous.
