He is a former cop and a former federal inmate with 15 years of experience at each. That's what you call living on both sides of the tracks. As a law enforcement officer in the midwest, he rose the ranks rapidly becoming a captain at 26. He was a patrol officer, investigator and later specialized in interrogations and child abuse cases. He left law enforcement and started a business, that's where he got crosswise with the feds. He wrote three books and observed a world that works unlike anyone really thinks it does.
