Reel Spooky Series 2026 Presents: Frankenstein(2025) Review — Kicking Off Reel Spooky Season 🎃

This is it — the first episode in the annual Reel Spooky Series! Joshua Hunter kicks things off with Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein, the Oscar-winning director's long-awaited adaptation of Mary Shelley's Gothic classic, starring Oscar Isaac as Victor Frankenstein and Jacob Elordi as his tragic creature. Joshua breaks down whether del Toro's signature dark, ornate style brings something genuinely new to a story that's been adapted hundreds of times, digs into Elordi's transformation into the Creature, and why it maybe the performance of his career, and gives his honest verdict on whether this one earns its place among del Toro's best work — or gets buried under its own gothic aspirations. Grab your candy, dim the lights, grab your Pumpkin Spice Drink(I might judge you in silence) and settle in — the ghouls are out & the annual Reel Spooky Season has officially risen from the dead. 🕯️🦇 One monster down, plenty more nightmares to go before Halloween. 🍍 The Reel Pineapple is your one-stop shop for honest movie reviews, trailer breakdowns, and unfiltered film talk — no hype, no gatekeeping, just reel takes from someone who actually loves this stuff. 📺 Subscribe on YouTube: youtube.com/thereelpineapple 🦋 Follow on BlueSky: reelpineapple.bsky.social 🎥 Follow on TikTok & Instagram: @jhunterreelpineapple 🎬 Follow on Letterboxd: BlackShazam 🎮 Catch me live on Twitch: twitch.tv/thereelpineapple ⭐ Love the show?
