FREE AGENT Somatic Investigation: Capacity, Change & the Brain–Body Connection

What happens inside the body when a role that has defined your life begins to change?  Inspired by Derek Jeter's final season and the unmistakable voice of Bob Sheppard, I'm retiring from the "mom game". My nest will be empty. this meditation explores the poignancy of marking an ending rather than rushing past it. Using deep red rose petals as physical points of attention, we investigate interoception: the brain's perception of the body's internal state and the relationship between the insula, ACC, and nervous system. This is an exploration of holding two truths at once: grief and joy, attachment and freedom, what is ending and what is beginning. The practice is not about making yourself feel better or forcing the body to let go. It is about developing the capacity to stay present with what is actually happening, allowing the brain and body to gather new information and gradually recalibrate to a changing reality. For anyone standing at the edge of a new chapter, this is an invitation to stop trying to return to who you were and begin asking a different question: What am I creating now?
