Freedom and the Vote

Freedom has never been created at the ballot box. Voting reflects the character of a people it does not transform it. Tyrants aren’t voted out, and revolutions usually just replace one form of slavery with another. Real freedom comes only as men and women are changed inwardly. History shows that freedom rises where Christian faith is strong and declines as that faith fades. A nation becomes free only as its people become free in Christ one life at a time. Elections follow reformation; they do not produce it. The real question isn’t who you vote for but whether there is a free man in your mirror.
