Freeway

from Makeover Montage: A Fashion in Film Podcast

We're celebrating our THIRD anniversary today with one of our all-time favorites, Freeway! The 1996 cult film stars Reese Witherspoon as a white trash Little Red Riding Hood who's trying to make it to her grandma's house when she goes head-to-head with a serial killer. It's trashy, violent, and incredibly offensive, but worth it to see Reese in the role of her life! The costumes (by Merrie Lawson) are scarce, but it's quality over quantity — they bring us right back to growing up as teens in SoCal. We discuss our love for Dickie's overalls (again), Sanrio wallets, seatbelt-belts, Eddie Furlong's Cameo, Blaire's piercing mishap, and the time Marie rolled over on top of John Stamos's Hollywood Walk of Fame star.  For visuals of the costumes, follow us on Instagram at @fishnetflixpod  DM or email your movie requests at [email protected]!
