When you just want to add a little comment or compliment into a conversation, at the start or when leaving. This is the phrase to bracket it like a pro.briser la glace = break the ice. Same as English, easy to remember. Remember it, use it, impress the French. Simple. Language learners get through a lot of ice-breaking!
