Why do good people suffer while the wicked seem to prosper? This age-old question finds its answer in Jesus' parable of the rich man and Lazarus in Luke 16:19-31. Here we see a wealthy man who lived in luxury while ignoring the suffering beggar at his gate, and after death, their eternal destinies were dramatically reversed. The rich man found himself in torment while Lazarus was comforted in Abraham's bosom, revealing that earthly success means nothing if we neglect our souls and the needs of others.Death serves as the great equalizer that strips away all worldly advantages and exposes the true condition of our hearts before God. The rich man's desperate plea for a second chance and warning to his brothers emphasizes a sobering truth: we have only this one life to choose our eternal destiny, and no amount of wealth, status, or earthly achievement can change our fate once we stand before the judgment seat of God.
