When will the real end of the world come? In Luke 17:20-37, Jesus addresses our natural longing to know when He'll return by teaching that the kingdom of God isn't something we can pinpoint on a calendar—it's already breaking into our world through His presence among us. We live in the tension of the "now and not yet," recognizing His kingdom is already at work while awaiting that final day when Christ will return as suddenly as the flood came in Noah's time or fire fell on Sodom in Lot's day.This uncertainty makes us vulnerable to false teachers who claim special revelation about his coming, which is why we must guard our hearts against deception and stay anchored in Scripture. Though we don't know the day or the hour, we know exactly who is coming for us—our loving Savior Jesus Christ.
