From Outrage to Action: Kitty Brandtner and the Fight to Ban Assault Weapons

On this episode of Between Us Moms, we’re joined by Kitty Brandtner, the founder of March Fourth, a nonpartisan movement fighting for a federal ban on assault weapons.After the Highland Park shooting on July 4th, 2022, Kitty woke up the next morning — heartbroken, angry, and unwilling to go back to “normal.” In her words, “I woke up on the 5th of July and was like, really spicy and pissed… I just wanted to go to D.C. and scream at the top of my lungs that I want a federal ban on assault weapons.” She posted her email on Instagram, took a deep breath (and a Xanax), went to bed — and woke up to more than 300 messages from people across the country who felt the same way.
