Moral Injury was recently approved by the American Psychiatric Association (APA)DSM-5-TR, the latest edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. It is not a mental health disorder itself but is included as a "moral, religious, or spiritual problem" under Z Code Z65.8, which helps clinicians provide a more comprehensive picture of a patient's situation by identifying experiences that disrupt their moral compass.
