From Simcha to the Infinite Light
from Breslov Therapy · host Meir Elkabas
Every Jew can access profound spiritual growth through genuine simcha. The Zohar's concept of the "nine chambers that are not light," - that when a person serves Hashem with joy through the performance of mitzvot, the mind is elevated toward the Infinite Light while remaining protected by the keter, the boundary that separates finite human perception from the infinite. The three intellectual faculties—Chochmah, Binah, and Daa't—interact and combine into nine spiritual chambers that serve as vessels for the light that cannot be directly grasped. These chambers enable a person to be extracted from the "chamber of exchanges," where good and evil, truth and confusion, become intermixed. Simcha is the primary key to this process, with the joy experienced in performing a mitzvah being even greater than the mitzvah itself because it opens the channels for higher intellect and spiritual perception. Rebbe Nachman's method of teaching introduces glimpses of higher truths and then conceals them, drawing a person into deeper personal and spiritual development. Spiritual advancement requires balancing the pursuit of closeness to Hashem with practical engagement in everyday life, recognizing that challenges, setbacks, and periods of constriction are essential components of growth and become the very means through which a person reaches higher levels. This path remains firmly within the framework of halacha while acknowledging that each individual has a unique mission and route of service. Through steadfast joy, even amid difficulty and exile, a person can transcend confusion, receive greater clarity of mind, connect to higher spiritual realities, and move steadily toward their personal tikkunThis class is based on Likutey Moharan lesson 24.For more on this lesson: linktr.ee/breslovtherapy_lesson_24If you have been inspired by this class/lecture please share it with your friends.
