Guy Consolmagno, S.J. is a Jesuit brother, planetary scientist, and Director of the Vatican Observatory, where he also serves as President of the Vatican Observatory Foundation. With a Ph.D. in Planetary Science from the University of Arizona and degrees from MIT, he has conducted pioneering research on meteorites and asteroids. In 2015, he was appointed Director of the Vatican Observatory by Pope Francis and has served as a scientific advisor to three popes. Known as the “Vatican Astronomer,” Br. Guy is a passionate advocate for the dialogue between science and faith, and the author of several acclaimed books, including Would You Baptize an Extraterrestrial?.
