Front Line Clinical Professionals receive Training to Enhance their Skills to Care for Survivors of Rape and other Gender-based Violence

from Government of Saint Lucia

The Ministry of Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs, in collaboration with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), recently hosted a capacity-building training workshop on the Clinical Management of Rape and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) under the Build Back Equal project, funded by Global Affairs Canada. Front line clinical staff benefitted from the training building their skills and ability to provide comprehensive care for survivors of rape and other forms of gender-based violence, as well as managing sexually transmitted infections. The Ministry of Health also received essential sexual and reproductive health (SRH) commodities such as models for breast examination, female pelvic models, etc. from UNFPA. The supplies were funded by the Build Back Equal Project and Global Affairs Canada.
