Fulfilling the Law

from Christianity Now Narrations Hosted by Christianity Now

In Matthew 5:17-20, Jesus delivers a message about the Law and the Prophets, emphasizing His mission to fulfill them rather than abolish them. These verses, part of the Sermon on the Mount, reveal Jesus’ teaching on righteousness, the kingdom of heaven, and the true nature of obedience to God’s commands. Unlike the Pharisees, who were often criticized for adhering to human traditions over God’s Word, Jesus calls for a deeper, authentic righteousness that aligns with God’s will. This message is crucial for understanding Christian living in the 21st century.
