Fully Known

📖 THANKFUL THURSDAY — FULLY KNOWNHere’s something I’m thankful for today:God knows me.Psalm 139 begins with David saying:“O LORD, You have searched me and known me.” — Psalm 139:1God knows when we sit down and when we rise. He knows our thoughts. He knows our paths. David says He is “intimately acquainted with all my ways.”God doesn’t merely know about you.  God knows you.And David’s response is beautiful:“Such knowledge is too wonderful for me…” — Psalm 139:6But there’s a discovery at the end of the Psalm that I love.David begins Psalm 139 by saying:“You have searched me and known me.”Then he ends by praying:“Search me, O God, and know my heart…” — Psalm 139:23Wait a minute.God has already searched him. God already knows him!David isn’t asking God to discover something He doesn’t know. He’s inviting the God who already knows him to deal honestly with what He sees.💭 Today’s TruthMaybe that’s part of what it means to abide in the presence of an all-knowing God:We stop hiding and start inviting.“God, You already know me. Search me. Show me what You see. And lead me.”And because of Jesus, we don’t have to be afraid to do that.Hebrews 4 tells us that nothing is hidden from God’s sight. Yet because Jesus is our great High Priest, Hebrews 4:16 says: “Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace…”Think about that:Nothing hidden—and still invited near.That’s something worth being thankful for!You don’t have to fight to be noticed by God. You don’t have to explain yourself perfectly before He understands you. And you don’t have to pretend before Him.You are completely known by God and never overlooked by God.🙏 Today’s PrayerFather, thank You for knowing me completely. You know my thoughts, my fears, my failures, my motives, and every part of my heart. Thank You that because of Jesus, I don’t have to hide from You. Give me the courage to invite You into every part of my life. Search me, show me anything that needs to change, and lead me in Your everlasting way. Help me draw near and learn what it means to abide in Your presence.
