But I am even more concerned about your spiritual and emotional preparation." -President Nelson, Embrace the Future with Faith 2020 As we look toward the future, we may experience feelings of fear as we hear what things are prophesied. Why not also experience feelings of hope and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and His power to redeem? The Lord has reminded us "If ye are prepared, ye shall not fear." One way to prepare for the future in faith is to prepare our minds. We learn from Moroni: Alma 48:7 "Moroni ... had been preparing the minds of the people to be faithful unto the Lord their God." Alma teaches an extraordinary yet simple truth as he relays his own experience in experiencing his own pain and anguish. "As my mind caught hold upon this thought, I cried within my heart: O Jesus, thou Son of God, have mercy on me.” As he appealed for the divine power of the Savior, something miraculous happened: “When I thought this,” he said, “I could remember my pains no more.” Suddenly he felt peace and light. “Nothing [was] so exquisite and sweet as was my joy,” he declared."
