Meet Gabrielle.

Gabrielle Amster joined Wallis Annenberg PetSpace as director in 2021. Before coming to PetSpace, Gabrielle served as the executive director of the Palm Springs Animal Shelter. During her tenure, she increased adoption rates by more than 40 percent.  She also established public spay/neuter programs for pet owners and shelter partners.  Over the past 18 years, Gabrielle has also held leadership positions with the Santa Fe Animal Shelter in New Mexico, Woods Humane Society in San Luis Obispo, and Animal Trustees in Austin, Texas.

Wallis Annenberg PetSpace.

Located in Playa Vista, California, the primary goal of PetSpace’s work is to alleviate the burden on its partner shelters and find homes for as many pets as possible.  They are a unique destination featuring an interactive environment for pet adoptions.  This also includes, humane education programming, and indoor and outdoor settings for pet-centric community events.  PetSpace initiatives focus on the mutually beneficial and dynamic bond between people and pets, as well as the origins and science of that relationship. This is demonstrated through animal care and adoption, learning and leadership, and expanding the PetSpace community.

Their mission is:  To promote and strengthen the human-animal bond.

When you visit their website, you will see all of the amazing opportunities that not only adoption offers but also what you can do to support your pet with a variety of program offerings.

Not only do they provide adoption for dogs and cats, they also have “critters” available to visit as well. The inside of their location is so welcoming. As an example, this is in their lobby.

Annenberg PetSpace carries a personal story for me.  I adopted my cat, known as Miss Kitty in February of 2021.

Today, November 4th, is her 10th birthday. Taking a sun bath and getting ready for yoga!

She has brought me so much joy. Thank you Annenberg PetSpace.
