This is GAC 238, a podcast ministry of the Greater Apostolic Church of Chatham, Louisiana. Coming up is information and inspiration for the community of Chatham, Louisiana, Jackson Parish and the world. Now for GAC 238. Praise the Lord.

This is GAC 238, a podcast ministry of the Greater Apostolic Church of Chatham, Louisiana. My name is Ben Petrel and I'm blessed to minister at Greater Apostolic Church and the purpose of this podcast is to give information, to give inspiration, to give hope to the people here in Chatham, in Eris, in Jonesboro, or any other community in the parish or in the world even. Why podcasting? A lot of people say, why don't you get a radio program?

Well, the fact is, there isn't a radio station around here, but everybody has a smartphone, everybody has a cell phone and if you've got a cell phone, you can listen to a podcast. I believe podcasting is an appropriate form of ministry. It's almost a necessary form of ministry for churches today. If you're going to plug into your community, a podcast is an excellent way to offer people information when they want it.

If you do a radio broadcast, it's at that time that you bought and if they missed it, a podcast when they're hungry for it and when they've got the time to listen, they can download it, they can listen in their car, they can listen as they're working and doing the dishes, they can listen anytime. And so I think a podcast is a very effective ministry if you integrate it in your community. And I want to be able to do that for the residents of Jackson Parish here. I want to be able to let them know who we are, what we believe.

Not only that, I want to inspire them to exercise their faith. A lot of people, they don't need just another sermon on the radio. If folks don't have enough gumption to get to church and listen to a sermon at church, they probably don't have enough gumption to listen to a sermon on a podcast. But what people do want to listen to is information that's going to help them, educate them and inspire them to overcome their troubles and battles.

Now, some of you may be saying, well, why do you call yourselves greater apostolic? Do you guys think you're better? No, that's absolutely not the case. We are all human beings.

The reason we call ourselves greater apostolic is because the salvation that God gives us is greater than the temptation in trouble that devil tries to throw at us. Our grace of God, God's grace is greater. God's love is greater. God's mercy is greater.

Not just for us, but for this world. And we want the world to know that God is greater than your troubles. God is greater than your trials. God's greater than your struggles.

And that's a message we need to get out to this world, this community, this people. We've got folks that are living under so much oppression, trouble, difficulties, relationships are torn and finances are stressed and sickness is rampant. And if there's one thing that is going to rise, people above their problems, the first ingredient that has to be present is hope. We must have hope.

The problems of this world are bigger than us. So we need a God that is bigger than our problems. And I am telling you today that Jesus Christ is bigger than your problems. His love is greater than your adversaries disdain for you.

If you will trust God and let God be your savior, if you will let the Lord come into your life, I'll tell you what, you need to get yourself in a place where you can be fed faith. I said fed faith and let faith get into your heart, into your mind, into your soul. And from an attitude of faith comes hope will bring forth the actions and the direction of your life. Change may not happen instantly, but you get your focus on the right goal and your life will change for the better.

Well, Luke, I tell you what, this podcast I hope is a strength and I hope is a ministry to this community. If you want more information about us, if you've got questions, if you want to make a comment, send us an email. Our email address is greaterappostolicatyahoo.com and you can send us any information you want and I'd be happy to go over questions, comments or whatever feedback we may get. If you want to come visit us at church, we are located on highway 34, just north of Chatham, about a mile and a half, you really can't miss us.

We are right there and come be apart and see what apostolic church is like. Everybody's welcome, everybody's treasured, souls are beautiful to God. And so come check us out. Thank you for listening.

My name is Ben Petrela. This is really just a test that I'm sending out to get our feed into iTunes and to get this thing started. But we hope to broadcast every week and give out a message of hope of some kind. So stay tuned.

We may even have guests in the future. So let's just see what the Lord's going to do and value your feedback. God bless you. Have a great day.

Bye bye. God bless you.
