The Judaizers insisted that Gentile believers must be circumcised and come under the Law of Moses. Paul calls that bondage, the very opposite of the freedom Christ gives.We follow Paul’s journey to Jerusalem “by revelation,” his private meeting with the apostles, and the significance of Titus — a Greek believer who was not compelled to be circumcised. His very presence proves that salvation is in Christ alone, by faith alone, without the works of the law.Paul exposes the danger of “false brethren unawares brought in,” infiltrators who sought to drag believers back into legalism. He refuses to yield “no, not for an hour,” so that the truth of the gospel might continue unchanged.
