Galatians 5:22-23 "The Fruits Of The Spirit" Part 4

from Lifestyle In Christ · host Family Productions LLC

Colossians 1:10. “That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;” In the closing of this series discussing the fruits of the spirit. We concluded with Faithfulness, gentleness/meekness & temperance/self-control. We discuss each as follows: Faithfulness- Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” Faith is the foundation of being a believer of Christ. Faith gives birth to power. No one can become a Christ follower without faith. Accepting Christ requires faith. Believing that Christ died for our sins and believing that kingdom of God in our hearts. To have the Holy Spirit faith is needed. To do what God commands. Faith is needed. Hebrews 11:6 “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” In order for faith to work..one must believe God exist and he is powerful. Believing that God exist gives you the mind to obey his word. Faith is a habit that must grow in your life. Matthew 17:20 “And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.” Gentleness - Jesus told us…what will become of those that are meek or gentle. Matthew 5:5 “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth” Those that are gentle and have made it a habit will not be a part of conflict. Gentleness also means you operate with discipline and refuse to allow anger to destroy you. Temperance/ Self control - the act of restraining one’s self from tempting things or sinful things. 1 Thessalonians 4:4 “that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor,” Romans 12:1-3 beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. 3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
