Technology and the Soul: Navigating the Digital Age

In a raw, faith-fueled episode of the *Lifestyle in Christ* podcast, The cast dive deep into the double-edged sword of technology in modern spirituality. Kicking off with casual banter about overtime hustles and past Bible studies that "took a turn real fast," the trio settles on a timely topic: how digital platforms shape our souls, blending scripture, personal stories, and sharp critiques. Drawing from Matthew 5:16 ("Let your light shine before men"), they explore letting God's light pierce the online haze—warning against "social media evangelists" who peddle emotional highs over true wisdom. Gabriella calls out the "prostitution" of souls for clicks, where users chase ear-tickling words like addicts. The conversation heats up on virtual church's pros and cons—praising its reach during COVID and for those with social anxiety (Gabriella shares her pregnancy-era struggles) but lamenting lost connections and "checkbox" faith. Coach Ivy stresses balance: technology supplements, not replaces, the body of Christ, urging discernment from 1 Corinthians 10:23 ("Not everything is beneficial"). They roast soulless content and "beautiful lies" from charismatic leaders, emphasizing logic over emotions and the "law of allowing"—what you engage invites more of the same. From kids binge-watching YouTube to adults mimicking toxic trends, they highlight risks: identity loss, depression feeds, and ignoring intuition. Yet, hope shines through—technology as a "healing ground" (like Coach Ivy's virtual women's community) to unlearn hurts and return to the fold stronger. Closing with fire: Keep God central, embrace balance and discipline, and remember—discernment is your shield in this digital wilderness. As the cast reminds all that, "Not all knowledge is wisdom," this episode challenges listeners to shine authentically, not chase fleeting glows. A must-listen for anyone scrolling through faith in 2025!

    The Story Of Bezalel

In this weeks conversation we closed out our series of “The Unsung Hero’s Of The Bible.” We had a very robust conversation about a very exciting and interesting person by the name of Bezalel. Bezalel was noted as one of the all time greatest artisan’s of the Bible. He made the ark of covenant. He made the tabernacle. He made the breastplate. He made the alter of incense. He made the menorah. He made the table of shewbread and he made the veil. In Hebrew the name Bezalel means “In the shadow (protection) of God. There’s a lot to a name. When God gives a name. He gives a DNA, an identity and a destiny to the name and the being which the name is given. Therefore when a name is spoken there’s a remembrance.  Welcome to the Lifestyle In Christ podcast and thank you all for continuing the journey with us. Where Is Your Fight- The Story Of Phinehas

This weeks discussion was about being a warrior for Christ. We talked about a priest in the Bible by the name of Phineahas.  Phineas was the  third High Priest of Israel and the son of Eleazar and grandson of Aaron. Phineas was commended by God for stopping Israel’s fall into idolatrous practices brought in by Midianite women as well as for stopping the desecration of Gods sanctuary.   Seeing that nobody else was making a move to carry out the Lord’s decree, Phinehas, the grandson of Aaron, could contain himself no longer. He rushed toward Zimri and his companion (Cozbi) and swiftly puts them both to death. God will always honor those who are serious about honoring Him and His holiness; those who will take action and obey what He has commanded. This simple act of devotion to defending God’s holiness not only turns the Lord’s anger away from the children of Israel, it earns him God’s “Covenant of peace” and a position for him and his descendants as high priests before the Lord (Num. 25:13).He removed the sins of the people. So they would belong to God‼️ Welcome to the Lifestyle In Christ podcast and thank you all for continuing the journey with us. We truly appreciate each and every one you for your continued support. The Story Of The Prophet Of Doom: Amos

This week we had another great in-depth conversation continuing our series of The Unsung Heroes of the Bible. We discussed Amos. Amos became an unsung hero because he accurately foretold the destruction of the Northern Kingdom of Israel. He was also named the prophet of doom. Amos was from the south part of Israel. The Lord called him to prophesy to the Northern Kingdom of Israel—a calling he did not expect but which he obediently fulfilled. Gods message to Amos was. the Israelites are going to face divine intervention as oppression was running rampant in Israel. Ananias: The Story Of Sight, Finding Strength, Wisdom & Coming Together

This weeks conversation was about faith, strength and wisdom. Ananias was a disciple of Jesus at Damascus mentioned in the Acts of the Apostles in the Bible, which describes how he was sent by Jesus to restore the sight of Saul of Tarsus and provide him with additional instruction in the way of the Lord. God asked Ananias to seek out Saul. Acts 9:15-16 "Go! This man is my chosen instrument to carry my name before the Gentiles and their kings and before the people of Israel. I will show him how much he must suffer for my name." His encounter with Paul/Saul changed his faith. Christ & The Crucifix prt2 (What Happened At The Cross

Continuing our conversation from last weeks topic “Christ & The Crucifixion” the week we discuss the four phenomenal events that took place at the cross. Event 1. Darkness - Jesus was placed on the cross at 9 a.m. (Mark 15:25), then “from noon until three in the afternoon darkness came over the whole land” (Matt. 27:45).      The significance of that is throughout the Old Testament darkness was used as a reference of judgement.  Amos 5:18; 8:9 Talks about the ninth plague of the exodus. Darkness was over the land of Egypt for a period of three days—a darkness that could be felt. Also, in Exodus. 10:21-22 After the plague of darkness came the death of the firstborn sons. Likewise on the cross darkness preceded the death of God’s Son. our sins were placed on the sinless Son and God poured out His judgment on Christ, our Substitute. Darkness as a sign of divine judgment highlights the substitutionary nature of Christ’s death. On the cross, Jesus endured the judgment of God upon our sin.  Event 2. THE CURTAIN - “The curtain of the sanctuary was torn in two from top to bottom” (Matt. 27:51). The significance of that is. It’s Christ who made it possible for us, Jew and Gentile, to return to the presence of God. No one else could have done this. Event 3. THE EARTHQUAKE - “The earth quaked, and the rocks were split” (Matt. 27:51). it’s a proclamation that Christ’s act had been accepted and we were now to live under His new gospel/law in order to receive eternal life. Event 4. THE DEAD RAISED - “The tombs were also opened and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised” (Matt. 27:52). It’s Christ who broke the bands of death, making it possible for us to rise again. Through Christ, death is not the end and we can have hope. it’s through Christ that we can be saved from sin and death and return to the presence of God. Because of what He has done we can live His gospel and receive eternal life. What we do doesn’t save us, Christ saves us, as we do what He asks.  Tune in as we break down our interpretation of the crucifixion. Christ & The Crucifix

What does the cross and Christ's resurrection mean for us? The message of the cross is the power of God that progressively continues to transforms us, prospers us, blesses us, heals us, protects us and makes us whole! (The true meaning of salvation is THEE wholeness of God.) Through the renewing of our minds to the message of the cross we become progressively more like Jesus and his work on the inside of us increases in it’s effect daily. The message of the cross is the truth about what happened on the cross of Calvary. Jesus who knew no sin became sin so that we could become the righteousness of Christ in Him. Jesus did not just pay the price for our sins on Calvary, He broke the power and the effect of sin in the lives of all who would receive Him as Lord and Savior. The message of the cross is more than a story, it is the POWER of God unto salvation. In other words, those who believe, receive and embrace the revelation of what Jesus did on the cross also receive the anointed impartation contained within the message. The crucifix emphasizes Jesus' sacrifice—his death by crucifixion, which Christians believe brought about the redemption of mankind.  To us, the resurrection is a metaphor of to die is to live. Jesus died so we might have life and life for abundantly.  Tune in as we break down our interpretation of the crucifixion. Dismas & Gestas: Paradise Lost & Found

The book of Nicodemus (written by Pilate) names the two thieves Dismas (who was crucified on the right) & Gestus (who was crucified on the left). They were poor cousins from South Israel. Gestus mocked Christ saying, “Save yourself and us!” Dismas defended Jesus in a humble manner, acknowledging the justice of God and the innocence of Christ. His response to his cousin was, “Do you not fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation? And we indeed justly, for we are receiving the due reward of our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong.” Then Dismas pleaded with Jesus to “remember me when you come into your kingdom.” This desperate and humble cry for mercy is all that God needed to welcome him into the fold. Jesus answered, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.” This indeed was a powepacked story! A man who presumably led his entire life in opposition to God, by the great mercies of God was able to be saved in his dying moments. This demonstrates that a humble heart that cries out to God for salvation will be heard. Paradise lost & found. The Redemption Story Of Rahab

In this weeks conversation we discuss the story of Rahab. Rahab was a harlot and a Canaanite. God gave her grace. After God redeemed her of prostitution she became the ancestor to King David and Jesus. She was King David’s great great great grandmother and by Jesus being the son of David that makes her his great great great great grandmother. Rahab had faith and acted on it. This is a great lesson we can learn:  Rahab's story is so powerful. Like Rahab, we must act on our faith. It's not enough to just have faith and believe in God—we have to act on it through obedience. Wisdom w/ Elder Claude "Deuce" Harris Jr.

Job 12:12-13 states "Wisdom belongs to the aged, and understanding to the old. But true wisdom and power are found in God; counsel and understanding are his." But all wisdom isn't knowledge. Wisdom IS simply applied knowledge. Solomon prayed to God asking him "Give your servant an understanding mind that is able to discern the difference between good and evil.” And God gave him “a wise and discerning mind.” Not only did God answer his prayer. God also bestowed wisdom, riches, wealth and honor upon him. We had another very insightful conversation with our good friend Elder Claude "Deuce" on this episode about wisdom. Enoch obeyed the Lord and taught the people with power. He taught about Jesus Christ, repentance, baptism, and the Holy Ghost. Some people believed Enoch and wanted to follow the Lord. God gave Enoch the authority to baptize. God promised Enoch that he would NEVER flood the earth again. Enoch walked with God. Josiah - The Last Good King Of Judah

In this weeks continuation of The UnSung Hero's Of The Bible we discussed Josiah. We spoke on things such as Tradition, Influence, faithfulness, forgiveness and ones own faith and meaning of God. Another great point we touched on was promise. 1 John 1:9 states "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." God was faithful unto Josiah even unto death. 2Kings 22:20 states "Behold therefore, I will gather thee unto thy fathers, and thou shalt be gathered into thy grave in peace; and thine eyes shall not see all the evil which I will bring upon this place. And they brought the king word again." Because Josiah was faithful to God, God kept his promise to Josiah by shielding him from the evil that was promised unto the land. Josiah's heart was tender to the words of God at only the tender age of 8 Josiah was devoted to serve the one and only true living God. What Do You See? W/ Jeremy Grimes

In this weeks discussion we invited one of our good friends/honorary cast members Jeremy Grimes. We had an extremely enlightening discussion on vision. We discussed how making it to the end of the assignment is far more important than the assignment. We are professional beginners, but very poor finishers. We must fulfill the vision so the mission can be accomplished and Gods purpose will be fulfilled. We also defined vision as the capacity to see the invisible. Seeing beyond your eyes and living in your imagination that benefits everybody else.  Welcome to the Lifestyle In Christ podcast. Unsung Heroes: The Conversion Of Saul to Paul

One of Paul’s famous quotes is “To live is Christ. To die is gain.” In this weeks discussion we concluded the segment of Saul and his conversion to Paul during and after his Demascus Road experience. We discussed how normal it has become for people who struggle with doubt to strike out at others in an attempt to silence their own doubts. Saul was mentored by one of the greatest scholars of that time Gamaliel. As religious as Saul was he was spiritually unhappy. On the outside he was attempting to please God. But on the inside he was ripped apart. Rather than confronting his emptiness. Saul resorted to vicious aggression. It was on the road to Demascus where Saul had his life changing encounter. where he’ll later be known as Paul “The Apostle of the Gentiles.” Thank you for continuing this journey with us throughout this series as we discuss the Unsung Heroes of the Bible. Unsung Heros: The Introduction of Saul

Everybody has a story. Everybody has an event that changed them. In this weeks conversation we discuss part one of a two part story of the story of Saul. We discuss the things Saul did before his conversion. We discussed how he "intensely persecuted" the followers of Jesus known as  “The Way”. Unsung Heros: Miriam & Aaron

When it comes to greatness. In the grand scheme of things, NO ONE has ever reached greatness alone. It always takes a team. But with a team, how can two walk together except they agree. To successfully fulfill the plan and destiny that God has for us, we must first order our steps according to his will, plan and purpose for our lives. God promised us in Proverbs 3:6 "In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." He advised us in verse 7 & 8 To "Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil." 8. "It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones." When we steer from the path that God sets for us opens the door for calamity to strike us. Gods plan for us is to be healthy and prosper.  Although Gods way is NOT always the easiest way, but he NEVER promised it would be. But one thing he did promise us is that it would be WORTH IT in the end!!!  This conversation was very healthy, inspiring and informative. The Unsung Hero's - Introduction

Many of us can relate to feeling overlooked, undervalued and underserved. Quite a few of us can resonate with the title of being an unsung hero: One who does great deeds but receives little or no recognition for them. In this weeks conversation we introduce the new series The Unsung hero's of  The Bible. In relation to the scripture Romans 8:28-30 "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified." We talked about how God finds pleasure in making our names great. For it is he that bestowed the very gifts within us and opens the very doors that placed us before Great men. But in order for us to operate in those gifts and for him to open those doors we must love him and wait to be called according to HIS purpose and not our own.  These are just a few of the things we covered in this new series introduction. Trusting God and Understanding His Expectations

Proverbs 3:5-6 states. ”Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”  How far or how much are we willing to trust God with the things we consider to be unbearable? Are we willing to devout our entire lives to God or just the parts of our lives the the outside world can see?  When you pray are you praying with great expectation, as if God has already answered? Or are you praying as if you’re rubbing on a lamp hoping a genie comes out to grant your wish? These are just a few of the things we covered in this weeks conversation.  Welcome to the Lifestyle In Christ podcast. God's Thoughts prt1

Albert Einstein stated “I want to know God's thoughts, the rest are details.” To know how God thinks and operates would make pleasing him much easier and accomplishable. We have the next best thing to his thoughts. Which is his consciousness, also known as the Bible. Psalm 119:11 states, “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” Everything we could ever imagine in regards to Gods thoughts and his expectations of us as believers can be found in the word of God. We had a very in-depth and insightful conversation on this weeks episode. Take a listen and feel free to leave us feedback.  Welcome to the Lifestyle In Christ podcast. What's The REAL Reason For The Season

Have you ever wondered why gifts are purchased for a persons birthday and everyone opens them except for the person who's birthday is celebrated? Or have you wondered why everyone buys a Christmas tree on Jesus's birthday, but not on your birthday or anyone else's birthday for that matter? Well, in this weeks discussion we discussed all of those topics and so much more. According to Jeremiah 10:1-5 "Hear ye the word which the Lord speaketh unto you, O house of Israel: Thus saith the Lord, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not. They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good." The Art Of Forgiving & The Power Of unForgiveness

Forgiveness is a very intricate piece in living the lifestyle of Christ. It allows us to move forward on our spiritual path. Forgiveness also encourages compassion. Through forgiveness you are able to relate to others as part of the humanistic experience. You feel for others as you do for yourself. Emotionally and psychologically. In our conversation today we discussed the art of forgiving and the power of unforgiveness according to Ephesians 4:32”Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” Welcome to the Lifestyle In Christ podcast.  If you would like to support our podcast, please click the link to subscribe and support https://anchor.fm/family-productions-llc/subscribe https://anchor.fm/family-productions-llc/message --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/family-productions-llc/message

CAN YOU HANDLE IT PART 2 W/ Pastor Benn & Dana Burns

In the continuation of last weeks discussion with Pastor Benn on handling the call. “Can YOU Handle it: Understanding The Role” w/ Pastor Benn

We invited Pastor Benn back to have a discussion about Ephesians 4:11-12.  Apostle Paul wrote a letter to the Ephesians to help them understand the true nature and functioning of the church.  “And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:” There’s a responsibility that has to be upheld once the call is accepted. Many jump into a “calling“  without understanding it which leads them to not being able to handle it.  Tune in to this two part discussion.  Welcome to The Lifestyle In Christ. Consequences For Disobedience

Have you ever wondered if God despised mumbling, griping and complaining? Or if there were consequences for being disobedient. Deuteronomy 28:15 “But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not ahearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:” In this weeks season 4 opener we discussed the consequences of being disobedient in relation to the story of Miriam (Numbers 12). Stewardship

Understanding stewardship is understanding that your life is not your own. Your life is a loan from God. Regardless if you acknowledge this or not. To every person in His kingdom, God has given the ability to be a productive steward under His ownership. We own NOTHING. Not even our own life because it can be taken. So tune in for this very insightful and enlightening conversation. Welcome to The Lifestyle In Christ. Favor....What is it?

Favor….hmm what is it? And why is it admired and desired so often. In  the Hebrew  translation. Favor is defined as grace,  delight, pleasure and good will. Favor can be found and it can also be obtained. Proverbs 22:1 “Loving favor is better than silver and gold.” Each day we have a stewardship with our personal lives, to surrender our lives to Gods purpose for our lives for THAT specific DAY. God gives favor to the righteous. There are two levels of righteousness. Positional Righteousness - when a person recognizes they are a sinner and Christ died on the cross for their sins. They accept salvation. And they come in relationship with God. God no longer sees your sins. He no longer sees your wrong. You are positionally righteous with God. Relational Righteousness - this deals with the day to day fellowship with God. Making moral choices that are acceptable to God. You can’t compartmentalize your life because everything in your life relates to one another.    Welcome to The Lifestyle In Christ. A Living Sacrifice

This week we had an in-depth conversation about Romans 12:1-2. Presenting ourselves as a living sacrifice. Paul’s letter was an outcry to the believers to do more than just believe. He was begging them to live holy for God. To sacrifice fleshly desires  to honor the commandments of God and  what better way to do that them with our lives.  Check us out as we break down Pauls letter today. Developing Your Spiritual Growth: Understanding Your Spiritual Identity

Do you believe there are benefits in knowing God? If you are searching for who you are, but you don’t know who you are…how will you know when you’ve found you? What if I told you that your identity is tied to your birth ? Your identity will define your future. Therefore, if you define yourself wrong. You’ll function wrongly. If you define yourself right. You’re now on the path to functioning right because you defined yourself accurately.  If you discover who God is, you’ll discover who you are. If you ignore who he is in you, you’ll never fully discover who you are and you’ll live your life in trial and error trying to locate yourself. 2 Corinthians 5:16-17 “If any man is in Christ he is a new creation” (that’s the root, that’s the birth, that’s the new life) Check us out as we deal with some of these topics today. Developing Your Spiritual Growth: Family Ties with Pastor Benn

This week we invited Pastor Benn back to close out the series segment on family. He shared his sentiments on how love is always the answer to bridging the gap between families. He also dispelled the belief on how just because your parents were one way, that doesn’t mean you have to carry that same weight of a burden because we all have to face the judgment seat of Christ on our own. We also discussed the difference between a stronghold and an addiction. Stronghold - a stronghold assumes a spiritual dimension. An addiction doesn’t. A stronghold assumes there is something behind the scenes that is cooperation with something visible on the scene. That is keeping one trapped in the situation they‘re in. If the person can ever get the spiritual right. The physical has to set them free. God created us for him, but he also created us for ETERNITY!!!  Ecclesiastes 3:11 “He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from.” God set eternity in our hearts. So that man may not find out its meaning apart from him (God). Addiction. Means you may NEVER get out of this. This  conversation was hot from beginning to end. Developing Your Spiritual Growth: Family vs. Christ Part 2

In this weeks conversation, Pastor Benn stopped by and gave deeper insight on the conversation concerning Developing Your Spiritual Growth: Family vs. Christ. The focus question was. Are there consequences when it comes to spiritual growth and family? He stopped by to let us know that one can be family by blood and by spirit. Their not mutually exclusive. And in short answer, yes there are consequences. Simply because most family can’t initially see your growth in the beginning and most won’t ever, but with consistency the rest will catch on and follow suit. We also discussed how theres also consequences when one chooses not to grow.  Welcome to The Lifestyle In Christ. Developing Your Spiritual Growth: Family vs. Christ

In continuing the series and conversation of developing your spiritual growth. We furthered the conversation towards family and the ties and strongholds that often comes with it. We also discussed the difference between family and relatives. How relatives mean you’re just simply related and how with family you have options. You can choose your family to fit your journey in life as well as with Christ. We discussed how family is a reflection of the Trinity. We discussed Gods intentions on creating the family. God created family to carry out his truth. God uses family to teach and illustrate crucial truths to ALL mankind. There are things we cannot easily understand if we do not understand family. When God wants to teach us certain truths, he essentially says, “picture a father and a son, or picture a wife and a husband, or picture a brother and sister.” Because he made these family relationships to be universal, he can use them as pictures in every context and in every age. He starts with the things we know then uses that knowledge as a Segway to the things we don’t know. So if we understand family, we  have language and concepts that helps us understand certain truths about God and his works and his ways. But if we lose family, or redefine it, we begin to lose that language and lose those concepts.
