On this episode, Cyrus is joined by two Youth Leaders from the United Nations #WeTheChange campaign - Akhilesh Anil Kumar (Ecosystem restoration) and Garvita Gulhati (Technology and Innovation). We The Change represents the solutions young people are pioneering towards climate action.Akhilesh is an avid environmental activist working in the field since 2019. He is the founder of Bring Back Green Foundation, a non-profit organisation that works across different environmental activities at scale, and deals in policy making initiatives. He also has a podcast called '‘Sustainability: The Green Game’.Garvita has been titled the 'Water Girl of India' by CNN and the Jal Shakti Ministry. She was named one of the 40 under 40 Environmentalists of the Year in 2019, and was also shortlisted for the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia List in 2021. In 2015 she founded 'Why Waste?', which has worked with lakhs of restaurants to conserve and save water.Cyrus talks to Akhilesh and Garvita about how they got into their field. Akhilesh and Garvita talks about how they got involved in reducing plastic waste and water conservation at such a young age, what Cyrus was doing when he was 19, why plastic and water are such major issues that need to urgently be addressed, and lots more.
