Gasper Nali introduces himself by phone from Malawi and mentions the languages he speaks...
from Radio Aula Mundi · host Radio Aula Mundi
Gasper Nali lives in Nkhata Bay, on the shores of Lake Malawi. His song "Abale Ndikuwuzeni" which he performed live on his homemade instrument called a "Babatoni" has become an internet sensation. The '”Babatoni” is a 3-meter long one-string bass guitar which is all homemade, and which Gasper plays with a beer bottle and a stick, while singing and stomping a locally fashioned kick-pedal on his cow skin bass drum. Gasper lives a quite modest life with no internet access in the small town of Nkhata Bay, mainly supporting himself by playing regular shows at venues in town. --- https://www.sparedogrecords.com/gasper-nali/ https://gaspernali.bandcamp.com/ --- Interview conducted via WhatsApp by Marco Rixecker --- https://www.amazon.com/author/marcorixecker --- Radio Aula Mundi, December 2022 --- At the moment, Radio Aula Mundi is an evolving podcast station where no language and all languages are spoken… It’s a multilingual mix of music, poetry, lectures, languages, interviews, documentaries, recipes, and a lot more, co-produced with the students of the ‘Aula Mundi International Cultural Center’… --- Radio Aula Mundi Centro Cultural & Turistico Aula Mundi Aula Mundi Cultural Travel Center https://radioaulamundi.bandcamp.com/ https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/radio-aula-mundi/id1584156605 https://www.amazon.com/author/marcorixecker Spotify YouTube https://castbox.fm/channel/Let's-talk-about-it%2C-anywhere-in-the-world...-id4725033?country=us Breaker Player FM Facebook https://www.paypal.me/radioaulamundi ---
