Gerry Hussey 2.0 – Is your inner voice your inner coach or your inner critic? Is it enabling you or disabling you?

from The Manifest Movement

By popular demand, Gerry Hussey, aka The Soul Coach, is back talking with Yvonne. Today, the focus of their conversation is – why we all need to be kinder to ourselves and silence our inner critic.  Gerry explains where our inner voice comes from, how it´s formed and shaped and why we have one. Before sharing how to make sure that your inner voice serves you by acting as a coach instead of an incessant critic that saps your confidence and holds you back. He shares details of his new book, which includes exercises that effectively turn it into a virtual coaching session with him. Gerry also answers some of the questions you asked the last time he was Yvonne´s guest. KEY TAKEAWAYS   Ultimately, what we think about impacts our focus and mindset which in turn shapes what we experience. Your inner voice can either act as a coach or as a critic. It can either enable or disable you. Gerry explains how to become aware of your inner voice, recognise the impact it is having and challenge it effectively when it is having a negative impact. Often the people holding you back are doing so from a loving place. They are worried that what you want will be too hard for you to achieve. Accept that other people´s experiences have led to an opinion that is different from yours. Respect that opinion, without judgement, and carry on pursuing what you know is right for you. Who you surround yourself with matters. If someone is genuinely negative, get them out of your life. Your ego can hold you back. Ask yourself, what does honouring myself and my goals look like? You have a duty to honour yourself and your family. Clearly communicate your values and be ethical. Appreciate yourself, don´t be constantly critical and pushing yourself (striving) Everything and everyone is connected. BEST MOMENTS “Everything is connected. I believe that nothing is isolated.” “What you think about, the things you speak about, prime your brain´s reticular activating system.” “Sometimes the people we think are critics are our greatest gift.” “Is your inner voice right now, your inner coach or your inner critic? Is it enabling you or disabling you?” “I wanted people to experience a coaching session with me in this book.” “If it's not your story, respect their story, respect their opinion, and choose not to accept.” “That's normal but staying in that mindset is optional.” “This book gives you the framework, the structure and the questions to find the truth within and give yourself permission to follow that.”  EPISODE RESOURCES https://soulspace.ie/gerry-hussey Gerry Hussey's books - https://www.amazon.co.uk/stores/Gerry-Hussey/author/B093K5XCY6?
