Cynthia’s 30-year career in higher education has included working with students and their families both in a college setting and in her private consulting practice. During her time at the University of Texas at Dallas, Cynthia served as Director of Academic Advising, the First Year Experience Program, Associate Dean of Students, Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs, and as a Clinical Professor in Behavioral and Brain Sciences.  She also served as a faculty member on the Health Professions Advising Executive Committee. She is a published author of  Skills for Success: Developing Effective Study Strategies and, in one of the highlights of her career, collaborated with Harlan on The Naked Roommate’s First Year Survival Workbook. Serving as an Independent Educational Consultant for the last 12 years, Cynthia brings her love of teenagers and passion for helping students tell their story to colleges through their applications to her college guidance work.
