Getting IN to a Sticky Situation Is Just What Author Dan Heath Recommends

from The Advertising Show · host Brad Forsythe and Ray Schilens

Co-Host Brad Forsythe interviews Dan Heath, co-author of MADE TO STICK: WHY SOME IDEAS SURVIVE AND OTHERS DIE, a project he worked on with brother, Chip Heath. Dan is a consultant at Duke Corporate Education, where he has worked on executive education programs with clients such as Microsoft, Wal-Mart, and Dow. He has taught and consulted on the topic of “making ideas stick” with audiences from organizations including Nissan, Microsoft, Fannie Mae and West Point. Previously, he was a researcher and casewriter at Harvard Business School. Dan has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in the Plan II Honors Program from the University of Texas at Austin. He is a co-founder of Thinkwell, an innovative new-media company that publishes textbooks embodying many of the principles of stickiness. Two proud (sort of) moments for Dan are his stint driving a promotional car called the “Brainmobile” across the country and his victory in the 2005 New Yorker Cartoon Caption Contest, beating out 13,000 other entrants. He grew up in Houston, Texas, lives in Raleigh, North Carolina, and has adopted Austin, Texas as his hometown. Dan learned to love napping and science fiction from his older brother Chip but so far has not acquired Chip’s taste for Supertramp. For entertaining advice join hosts, Ray Schilens and Brad Forsythe, for a lively and informative discussion.
