ghosted

from the ignorant savants · host Byron Haskins

Ghosted I think I just missed a turn I shouldn’t have made I just paid a toll I shouldn’t have paid. Life has dreams that never come true, He said, “take a chance on me, I took a chance with you.” And I got ghosted Yeah, I got ghosted He turned every fear I had against me, Now I’m standing alone in my shame Yeah, I got ghosted. Some carry grievances They refuse to evaluate. I think it’s time I say I was one of those who wanted to retaliate! I let you lead me astray. I let you lead me into hate. I guess it’s on me to accept the cause of my fate. I got ghosted Yeah you ghosted me You turned every friend I had against me, Now I’m standing alone in my shame Yeah, I got ghosted. I think I missed the adrenaline rush I shouldn’t have been so inhuman that’s the drug we all been dealt It’s the drug that you been pushin’ My life had dreams that never came true, So, I took a chance, I took a chance, and I was a fool. And then I got ghosted. Yeah, you ghosted me. You turned every friend I had against me, Now I’m standing here in my shame Yeah, I got ghosted. Lyrics: Byron Haskins © 2025 nPoet9 Publishing HCR 08172025: Trump has misunderstood the nature of power in a democracy at home, too. Rather than building domestic coalitions to support the government, he is overseeing the takeover of the government by a radical minority that seems to think the way to build power is for the government to attack its own people. The administration’s defunding of scientific research, medical care, environmental protection, food safety and security, and emergency management all threaten Americans’ health, safety, and security. Its attacks on history and education, as well as its firing of women and racial and gender minorities, seem designed to drive wedges among Americans. Its incarceration and disappearing of undocumented migrants both creates an “other” for Trump loyalists to hate and provides a warning of what could happen to the regime’s opponents. Now, under the guise of fighting crime, the administration has quite literally turned guns on the American people.
