Gilgo Beach Serial Killer Pleads Guilty | Special

He was known as the Gilgo Beach serial killer. On April 8, 2026, Rex Heuermann pleaded guilty to killing seven women between 1993 and 2011. They are Melissa Barthelemy, Megan Waterman, Amber Costello, Maureen Brainard-Barnes, Sandra Costilla, Jessica Taylor, and Valerie Mack. Heuermann also admitted guilt in the killing of an eighth victim, Karen Vergata.We are here to discuss this case, including an odd New York Times piece by Ginia Bellafante in which she reflects on how she and her friend, the actress Amy Ryan, knew Rex Heuermann.
