El excéntrico Eric Satie, quien falleció un día como hoy, tenía 21 años cuando comenzó a llamarse “gimnopedista”. Esta palabra Gimnopedia, hundía sus raíces en la antigua Esparta y fue incluída en 1775 por Jean-Jacques Rousseau en su Diccionario de Música. Palabra poco habitual permitió a Satie revelar una música totalmente nueva donde cada nota era capaz de producir un estado de ánimo concreto.
