In this episode, we examine how the Bible enables us to confront gambling. When we open God's Word with honest and careful study, we find that Scripture speaks directly to the attitudes and desires that drive this growing issue in our world today. The apostle Paul writes in 1 Timothy 6:10 (KJV), "For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows." This sobering warning from Scripture cuts to the very heart of what gambling pursues and what it ultimately produces. When we commit ourselves to what the Bible actually says, we find that God's Word is sufficient to confront gambling for what it is — and to equip us to stand firm in a culture that increasingly accepts it — strengthening our confidence in Scripture as our reliable and authoritative guide.
