In this episode, we examine how the Bible enables us to confront false ideas about baptism. When we open God's Word with honest and careful study, we find that Scripture speaks clearly on this subject, leaving little room for the confusion and contradiction that so many false ideas have introduced. The apostle Peter declares in Acts 2:38 (KJV), "Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." This straightforward command from God's Word establishes both the purpose and the necessity of baptism in a way that false ideas simply cannot overturn. When we commit ourselves to what the Bible actually says about baptism, we find that Scripture is sufficient to address every misconception and strengthen our confidence in God's Word as our reliable and authoritative guide.
