The apostle Paul writes in Ephesians 4:4-5 (KJV), "There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism." This clear declaration from God's Word reminds us that the unity Christ established was never intended to be divided into the countless denominations that men have created — and that the Bible itself is sufficient to expose that division for what it is. When we commit ourselves to what the Bible actually says about the church, we find that Scripture is sufficient to confront every false idea that denominational has introduced — calling us back to the one body, the one faith, and the one Lord that God's Word has always proclaimed — strengthening our confidence in Scripture as our reliable and authoritative guide.
