La décima parte de la superficie de la Tierra está cubierta de nieve y hielo. La mayor cantidad de toda esa agua helada está acumulada en la Antártida y en Groenlandia, el resto se encuentra en más de 200.000 glaciares repartidos por muy distintos lugares del planeta. Últimamente se habla mucho de las masas heladas y de su comportamiento ante el aumento de temperaturas que está provocando el cambio climático, pero la respuesta de los glaciares no es fácil de conocer porque depende de muchos factores, unos factores que científicos, como nuestro invitado, Francisco Navarro, glaciólogo, catedrático de la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, llevan muchos años estudiando.
