Der Kirchenpatron Johannes der Täufer weist noch auf eine frühchristliche Taufkirche hin. Später gab es ein gotisches Gotteshaus. Baufällig geworden wurde dieser Bau 1767 abgebrochen und im Stil des Barock neu errichtet. Doch erst 1823 konnte die Pfarrkirche in Glonn fertig gestellt und eingeweiht werden.
