Glowing Lava Erupts From Mayon Volcano As Blast Activity Continues In Philippines

Philippines – Time-lapse footage captured glowing lava pouring from the summit crater of Mayon Volcano during the night of July 14, 2026. The sped-up recordings showed lava effusion and Strombolian activity at 8:09 p.m., 9:13 p.m., 10:27 p.m., and 10:48 p.m. as documented by the PHIVOLCS Quick Response Team. Bursts of incandescent material were thrown into the air while bright lava flows moved down the volcano’s slopes against the dark landscape. The effusive eruption at Mayon Volcano has continued for a 191st consecutive day, producing incandescent lava flows, pyroclastic density currents known as “uson”, and rockfalls. Alert Level 3 remains in effect at the volcano, and entry into the six-kilometer Permanent Danger Zone remains prohibited.
