Aaron Volpatti is the author of his current book Fighter-Defying the NHL Odds, and Cognitive Performance Coach/Speaker. Aaron grew up like most Canadian kids dreaming of making it big in hockey while living in the picturesque town of Revelstoke, British Columbia. While admittedly not the most talented kid around on the ice, once he ventured to the bigger cities, it became apparent to him he had a different kind of gift. This gift being toughness. However, it wasn't until later in life, entering his second year of junior hockey for the Vernon Vipers, where his toughness would be put to the ultimate test. We go through the terrifying events that took place that fateful summer where he would endure burns to over 40% of his body. A simple summer kick off and an end of hockey season party-turned nightmare for all. We go through in detail the trauma he suffered and the long, long road to recovery. While in hospital, Aaron had nothing but time and loneliness with his thoughts. The events of that summer, whether he knew it or not, would eventually unleash a "superpower" deep within him. We go through the many other traumas that he had to go through along the way. For a kid that likely had no business making it to the NHL, he feels his newfound superpower, through his new Visualization techniques he discovered along the way, he ultimately was able to manifest his goals. This happens several times in his life.
