I had Kels back in the studio, to unpack some of her more recent findings, namely we get into the hottest topic on the globe right now, and that is ai data centres. Kels is a spiritual soul, who isn't afraid to seek the truth, and share her findings rightly or wrongly, but as you will find after this episode, it's starting take a toll on her. GND#56 Dean Burns-The Legend of Patrick Burns: "Alberta's Greatest Citizen"

Patrick Burns was a Canadian politician, rancher, meat packer, businessman, and philanthropist. A self-made man of wealth, he built one of the world's largest integrated meat-packing empires, P. Burns & Co., becoming one of the wealthiest Canadians of his time. He is honoured as one of the Big Four western cattle kings who started the Calgary Stampede in Alberta in 1912. He worked in the meat industry and owned cattle ranches. Burns's 700,000 acres (2,800 km2) of land in Southern Alberta extended from Cochrane to the US border. In 1931, he was appointed to the Canadian Senate as a representative for Alberta. On October 16, 2008, the Calgary Herald named Burns as Alberta's Greatest Citizen. Dean Burns is a descendant of Pat's and I sat with him to ride through the historical journey of Pat coming to Calgary with nothing but a shirt on his back, and a determination to succeed. Dean is a historical juggernaut with a wealth of knowledge, and is a successful entrepreneur himself right here in Calgary. This was a phenomenal discussion and if you're a history buff, this one is for you! GND#55 Keith Wilson Let Alberta Decide: Independence Movement Gains Momentum!

Keith Wilson is a prominent Alberta constitutional and rights lawyer based in Alberta. He is well-known for his advocacy work, including landowner rights, and for co-chairing "Let Alberta Decide," a prominent campaign pushing for provincial independence. We deep dive into the topic of a potential "Yes" vote in the upcoming October Referendum, when it flipped for Keith and finally got him on board with thought of separating from Canada, the legal pathway, what would happen to investment, the 400bn dollar price tag Danielle Smith Claims it would cost, and so much more. Keith is calm, concise, extremely likeable and an excellent communicator. This is easily the most informative discussion I've had on the subject to date. If you have questions, I believe plenty will be answered for you in this episode! GND#54 Bek MacIntosh-Canada's Largest Ai Data Center-Olds AB Concerns Of Environmental Impacts

Rebecca MacIntosh moved to Olds, Alberta from rural Ontario in hopes of living the small town life. Surrounded by like-minded neighbours, from blue collar, to farmers and ranchers former corporate hustlers and nature, LOTS of nature. Enter Synapse Data Center-the largest hyperscale ai hub of its kind currently proposed for Bek's new lovely town. The catch? It's IN TOWN. Literally. She is currently the loudest voice vehemently opposed to this project, given the sheer size, over 300 acres, and power required to run this thing. The power includes over 600 diesel generators, a battery plant, and water, lots and lots of water, for cooling. We dive into exactly what this beast is, and its potential harms but most importantly the speed at which this thing is being proposed to approval. She is wondering, where exactly is the scrutiny, when is our world famous regulatory framework going to enter the fray? So far, it has not. Is there corruption going on here? Why the big push? Is this simply a provincial agenda for Danielle Smith in conjunction with Mark Carney and the Global Elites? Or is this simply a town looking to cash in? Before this sit down, I had virtually no knowledge on this subject and I wasn't necessarily opposed to data centres, but building one of this size and magnitude so close to town, raises many question. We get into it all folks. This will not disappoint! Follow Me ON: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/greatnorthe... The Alberta Referendum looks to be on the horizon thanks to the legal threshold of obtaining AND surpassing the 177K signatures required to trigger it. The  @RealCTZN  boys stopped by so we could dissect all things Canadian Politics, and of course Alberta politics, given we are Podcast neighbours here in the province. We also get into Mark Carney's performance thus far, and his green ideology and how that could potentially affect Canadians. Pierre Poilievre's podcast performance and even a bit of golf!! GND#52 Chanse Vigen-World Champion : Patch, Politics and Purse Pursuits!

Chanse Vigen makes his return to the studio for the second time, AFTER his return to the Podium for the 3rd Time! He was joined by his lovely wife Brie Vigen in the studio, and was happy to provide Chanse some moral support, as the "Rangeland Derby Rockstar" was completely hungover! (Racing Season was a few days away) Chanse has pulled of 3 World Titles in a row for the Chuckwagon Driver of the year honours, and is gunning for his 4th this season putting himself into elite status territory. He's a good ole Albertan boy through and through, and I was delighted to sit down with the champ and share some vino & dip packets, while swapping some good stories.  We hammer down on some of Chanse's races, his scary Wagon flip from last season, his busted up ankle, the elusive Calgary Stampede Dash for Cash, and naturally (as I tend to do) it veers off into politics a tad. Alberta Separation does come up again in this one, as does our Oil Patch. In addition we touch on the "I'm Your Huckleberry" initiative started by Brie, that gives back to families in need. They've partnered this season with Paul Van Ginkel, a Calgary artist, who painted a stunning re-capturing of Chanse and his hoses mid-race from a previous still photo, taken by Shellie Scott. It is insane! There will be many size variations available for purchase with the proceeds also going to the "I'm Your Huckleberry" charity. I'd say Buckle Up, but it's a given for this one! GND#51 Unfilteredwithkels : Liberals Steal Their Majority-Trudeau Under Fire, Will Canadian Conservative Influencers Be Banned?

This was a great yap @unfilteredwithkels , a Canadian political commentator who is currently on a stratospheric rise thanks to her hot takes on social media. We cover everything under the sun in this one from the WEF, 15 minute cities, Justin Trudeau and the serious allegations agianst him currently, Alberta Separation, Bill C9 (will they come after us?) and of course the recent authoritarian style grab by the Liberals for a Majority via floor crossings. GND#50 Dawn's Dirt-RURAL CANADA UNDER SEIGE! The Fight to Save the Family Farm

Dawn Buschert is a former farmer-turned homesteader. She lost her original farm due to unfortunate circumstances both in her personal life, and also in business. The bloated bureaucracy and ever-increasing regulatory on the farming and agriculture sectors in Canada has slowly been strengthening its grip on our farmers. We dive into some of the issues affecting our food pricing in Canada, and the recent traceability regs that have put a burden onto the already full work days of our farmers. This is especially concerning for our smaller farms in this country. It's added both fear, and confusion across the ag industry. Dawn now runs her own Podcast called "Dawn's Dirt" where she hopes to teach people how to grow their own food, a true farm to table business from their homes, or even their apartments! She is also a staunch advocate for farming in general, but most importantly she is trying to help stop the deterioration in the small-farm businesses. This was a great northern discussion, and I have become a big fan of Dawn's. She is a great speaker, with a huge heart! GND#49 Rod Giltaca-CEO CCFR The GREAT CANADIAN GUN MESS! $Billion Buyback Blunder

Rod Giltaca is the CEO at the Canadian Coalition for Firearms Rights. I messed it up right out of the gate! Maybe it's fitting I did looking back, as I'm pretty green on the gun scene, but I am a big proponent of property rights in this country! Rod is also a media personality with 2 television shows and also hosts and produces firearm-related content including "The CCFR Radio-On The Air" podcast.  Rod starts by indulging me in the re-telling of "where his love for guns origins story" It's a pretty wild tale to be honest, as he was not always a gun-guy. The crux of this episode was really to dive into the Liberal Gun Buy-Back program currently underway in Canada. There is a lot to unpack, and we do so. Plenty of chatter on Gary Anandasangaree, the Minister of Public Safety Canada, as we play some "leaked audio" from a brave gun-owner who confronted "Big Gar" in his own apartment building. We also get into a couple of different guns that would be deemed "illegal" by this Liberal Government, and show off what the guns actually look like, and what their actual capabilities are, automatic not being one of them! Rod is an excellent speaker, highly intelligent, and extremely thoughtful. He comes across as a kind human who truly cares about gun-owners in this country. It's an uphill battle currently, but it's a fight he's more than capable of taking on and he is proud to be a voice for the so many of the MOST VETTED CANADIANS in our country.  Follow the CCFR: https://firearmrights.ca/ Youtube: https://youtube.com/@ccfrtv?si=9U9OCTviN2VbHhjf Follow Me ON:  Instagram:  https://www.instagram.com/greatnortherndiscussions/?hl=en Facebook  https://www.facebook.com/greatnortherndiscussions/ TikTok:  https://www.tiktok.com/@greatnortherndiscussions?is_from_webapp=1&sender_device=pc Intro/Outro Tunes: Back on the Farm-Shoot the Lights Out  https://www.stlo.rocks/ Episode Sponsors:  https://lonestardirectional.com/  Location: Studio Luma, Calgary Alberta :  https://www.studiolumayyc.com/

GND#48 Dallas Brodie-Graves or Guess Work? The Kamloops Narrative & OneBC Party

It's safe to safe to say that the Kamloops Graves discovery and eventual discovery of the "anomalies' via radar rocked the nation. Cries of genocide done by Candians on Indigenous children is a serious claim and will affect the course of Canadian history. Enter Dallas Brodie.  Dallas Brodie is a former lawyer-turned Politician who suddenly found herself at the epicentre of one of the most contentious issues Canada has ever witnessed. She was handed a file one day and asked to look into it. The rest is now only the beginning. Dallas decided to called out the fact that the residential school in Kamloops had received some 12 million dollars in funding, part of which was meant for the excavation of the unmarked graves. Nothing was done. And so the narrative grew, all with virtually no evidence, no witnesses, no parents seeking missing children, no statements from extended families corroborating their missing family members, nothing.  Dallas has since been calling it out, very loudly, leading to her being shunned from the Conservative Party in British Columbia, by John Rustad. She would go on to form the OneBC Party and seeking to right the wrongs of the Indigenous narrative that has been consuming the province, taking in gobs of funding, seeking to take property rights via land claims, the land acknowledgements that have become front and centre of every school and sporting event, and so on. She went on to make the Youtube documentary Making A Killing, which has garnered hundreds of thousands of views and growing, and we dissect some pieces of the film. Safe to say the documentary is eye-opening and should scare the living hell out of Canadian Citizens. We also discuss her recent visit to UBC where she was met with massive protests.  You don't want to miss the episode. Dallas is a warrior. She calls it like she see's it, right or wrong. Something that has been truly lacking from our Politicians in this country for some time.  To Watch Making A Killing: https://youtu.be/TSRn8BzpvLc?si=I6r7n14avEJKOgRh OneBC Party: https://1bc.ca/ Socials: https://x.com/Dallas_Brodie?s=20 Follow Me ON:  Instagram:  https://www.instagram.com/greatnortherndiscussions/?hl=en Facebook  https://www.facebook.com/greatnortherndiscussions/ TikTok:  https://www.tiktok.com/@greatnortherndiscussions?is_from_webapp=1&sender_device=pc   Intro/Outro Tunes: Back on the Farm-Shoot the Lights Out  https://www.stlo.rocks/ Episode Sponsors:  https://lonestardirectional.com/  Location: Studio Luma, Calgary Alberta :  https://www.studiolumayyc.com/

GND#47-John Carpay President Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms MAID + Censorship

John Carpay is the Excecutive Director and President of the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms. He is no stranger to controversy. John has, from a very young age, felt compelled to defend those whom have had their "freedoms" of speech, freedom of expression or bodily autonomy unjustly prosecuted. He is a staunch defender of patriots.  We specifically tackle the Invocation of the Emergencies Act, recently deemed "illegal" and "unconstitutional". The recent win against the Governments' attempt to seize "Big Red", the large truck utilized by Freedom Convoy lead protestor Chris Barber. This was a huge win for Chris and his family, as his truck is literally his livelihood.  Most importantly we dissect Medical Assistance In Dying in Canada. Where it started. What its original purpose was for, and where certain lobbyists are currently trying to take it. This is an alarming topic as the push to increase MAID for Canadians suffering from mental illness, to military veterans suffering from depression is drastically shooting upwards. What is the purpose here exactly? We discuss.  Secondly we dissect the Liberal Online Censorship Bills in C11, C18 and C63. Why such a push to limit our freedoms on the internet here in Canada? This is a great open discussion on all things relevant to protecting our freedoms under the constitution and charter of rights.  Buckle up folks, it's a doozy! GND#46 Wyatt Claypool-What Happened to the B.C. Conservatives? | OneBC | M.O.U. | & Dissecting Canadian Politics

Wyatt Claypool is the founder and lead editor/host of The National Telegraph. He also currently helps advise the newly formed OneB.C. party there on the West Coast in Canada. At the ripe old age of 26 this young political commentator, X agitator and Youtube news-giver is a hustler, no doubt. Wyatt has grown his YouTube Channel to over 85 Thousand subscribers and I always enjoy his "whiteboarding"! (see his YT) We dig into how Wyatt truly got his start, beginning with his education and how he eventually got into in politics. He later ran as an MP for the Signal-Hill riding in Calgary, AB after building a healthy following on his Youtube and Social Media accounts via his commentary on The National Telegraph.  We breakdown the razor thing Federal Election in British Columbia where John Rustad lost one of the tightest races in history. What followed after is only described here as a "dog's breakfast" from in-fighting to an eventual coup to oust Rustad from his seat. Wyatt would go on to help the OneBC party and it's controversial new leader in Dallas Brodie. Dallas has been extremely outspoken regarding the Indigenous "mass graves" findings, and the Land Grabs that have been going on in British Columbia. We break down several other Canadian political topics, one of the most eye-opening being the Memorandum of Understanding between the Carney government and Danielle Smith here in Alberta. We discuss it's importance, or lack thereof and its affect on his own caucus and his voting base. We also touch on the most recent Mayoral Race here in Calgary and what is next for Wyatt, OneBC and the National Telegraph.  Wyatt Claypool knows the political landscape inside and out folks and I had a pleasure sitting with him. GND#45 Army of Great Men: One Man's Journey From Rock Bottom to A Voice for Albertans

Adam Derges was a broken man. He once contemplated ending it all. Then he dug deep within himself to find a great purpose in life.  In this episode, not going to lie, it takes a HARD LEFT right out of the gate as we get to the crux of how Adam found himself being an influential voice on social media via podcasting and voicing his opinions daily. It's the prior journey that's important to hear.  We go on a psychedelic tour, if you will, that sees Adam taking prescribed ketamine first, and later leading to a flight to Columbia and doing work on himself under guided spiritual trips via ayahuasca. It's fascinating to hear the metamorphosis he went through while under the influence. It changed him. He knew what to do now. Help others. So he created the Army of Great Men, to help others who've gone through various adversities and needed a safe space to just talk, learn and grow.  EVENTUALLY, we get to the topic of Alberta Separation, as Adam has become a staunch advocate for some much needed change in the West. We also touch on the power of the various conservative social media influencers currently making a difference and applying pressure on the current Liberal Canadian Government.  Buckle up folks, THIS IS A TRIP! GND#44 MartyUpNorth Oil-Rich Alberta: Cash-Poor Canada with Marty Belanger

Martin Belanger, a.k.a. @martyupnorth (X) spent his life in the Canadian Oil Patch. Oil, as he says, "was very good to me" Now retired at the nice young age of 58, he spends most of his time pissing people off on X, OR inspiring countless others with his no holds barred takes on all things politically triggering. Are they really triggering though, or is he simply callingn out truths? Either way, it's hard not to respect his honesty, and to also thank him for his years of service trying to get our oil and gas out of the ground and delivered to the masses, while helping create thousands of jobs.  In this episode we spend A LOT of time digging up old war stories and specifically hilighting some of the missed opportunities that would've been good for Canada, like Goldboro LNG. Marty played a key role in the failed project that would've brought thousands of jobs to Maritimers on the East Coast of Canada. We also reminisce fondly of some of his other projects including an awesome tale of his time spent drilling wells in, QUEBEC of all places. This story is phenomenal! While the story of drilling Quebec wells are hilarious, it also exposes the absurdity of the regulatory framework here in Canada.  Naturally we explore Alberta Separation and the Alberta Prosperity Project along with the potential incoming referendum which is likely slated for the fall of 2026. I'm a big fan of this guy, and I believe we owe him a debt of gratitude here in Alberta. GND#43 Oil, Taxes and Freedom-The Shocking Case For Alberta Separation:Alberta Prosperity Project

"The Alberta Prosperity Project is an inspiring initiative to educate and unite all Albertans, businesses, and organizations to protect their prosperity, individual freedoms, rights, and sovereignty by empowering the Alberta government to restructure Alberta's relationship with Canada." I had the pleasure of sitting down and having an open and honest conversation with Tanya Clemens, a Farmer, Educator, Advocate for Agriculture and Politically Engaged hustler who now joins in the education for Albertans via the Alberta Prosperity Project. We talk all possibilities on the potential for Alberta as it pertains to sovereignty within and without Canada. Hot topics like Alberta's Oil and Gas revenues, equalization, taxes, quebec, lack of representation in the form of seats at all levels of government, and exactly who are these "separatists" and why are they so angry? Are we all hillbillies, racists and extremists, or are we simply fed up with the lack of cooperation from Ottawa. I thoroughly enjoyed this conversation, Tanya is not only a sweetheart, but she's an excellent communicator with a passion for defending western interests. Right in my wheelhouse folks!! GND#42 Chris Barber-Canadian Liberal Government Coming for "Big Red" A Symbol For Freedom

Chris Barber and Tamara Lich helped organize the now infamous Freedom Convoy of 2022 that took place in Ottawa, Ontario Canada. I say "helped" because it was a large group of freedom-loving Truckers, lawyers, ex-rcmp, everyday workers and military veterans that came together to set it in motion, and somehow keep it on the tracks.  What unfolded as the Trucks began to roll from West to East, is that it picked up other eager truckers and disgruntled Canadians with regards to the mandates during the pandemic, and a massive amount of fanfare and followers cheering the patriots on. There of course, were many who disagreed with this group, most notably the Federal Government and their favourite Liberal-funded MSM would pile on to help paint a much different narrative. Chris was handed a 12 month sentence of House Arrest-followed by 6 months of curfew and 100 hours of community service. He now has a LOT of time on his hands, and a LOT to say. So much so that Tamara Lich and Chris have fired up their own weekly podcast aptly titled "House Arrest" which will air weekly on YOUTUBE, and other Social Media Platforms every Thursday. We dive into how it all started, who were some of the key players, what it was like as they travelled across Canada to unite and Protest. We then get into what it was like on the ground in Ottawa and go over some of the incidents that occurred like the "flag" that mysteriously appeared and was captured in a photo, the woman who was trampled by the horse, the statue that was apparently urinated on and desecrated. We get into the invoking of the emergencies act of course and the emergency senate debate regarding Justin Trudeau's unleashing of these unprecedented  powers that resulted in the freezing of many innocent Canadians' bank accounts. We also touch on his love for Tamara and how strong that woman actually is! Are they heroes or villains? You decide. Chris is a salt of the earth, blue collar, all around good ole Saskatchewan boy who was just fed up with what was happening to Canadians and their rights. He took it to the next level, and now has to pay the piper. It was the longest trial for mischief in Canadian history! GND#41 John Pantazopoulos Walks Away From Oil To Drill Into Calgary City Hall

John Pantazopoulos, running for City of CalgaryCouncillor Ward 6 (my ward) is a former Top 40 Under 40 as given the nod in Avenue Magazine for Calgary Alberta. He is currently the CEO of Lucky Strike Energy, and has been behind several other Oil and Gas and Lithium start ups including E3 Metals which holds Canada's largest high-confidence lithium resource. So why does a guy who seemingly has it all want to walk away for the not-so-glorious City Halls of Calgary? Turns out the Blanket Rezoning recently imposed on YYC was the last straw for the astute entrepreneur.  We get into his gripes with the previous council, and what he looks to bring to the new council if elected, is his business savy from lives past which also includes being a CFO at Petroreef whre he was the youngest of all on the TSX Venture, and in addition as part of the executive leadership team, Pantazopoulos helped raise 180 million in equity capital for Tangle Creek.  We talk about safety, transit, fiscal responsibility and various other topics including my favorite, drilling wells! John has been pounding the pavement for 7 months and had a great head start on his opponents, and he has tracked every step, every conversation and every door missed, that was ear marked for a return visit. John is meticulous, methodical, analytical, well-spoken and charismatic. This guy is one sharp cookie, and I believe he's one to keep an eye on down the road in politics, and feel he'd be an excellent councillor for Ward 6! Who knows, this guy just might be Mayor potential. Time will Tell! GND#40-GEDfest, "The Hip Still Owns This Country"

It's no secret what The Tragically Hip MEANT to Canada. They touched so many in different ways, and after the last show ever from the energic band, it also touched Keith Dyck. GEDfest, an annual live music festival now in its 8th Season, was created to continue to not only celebrate the life and music of The Hip, but to help restore the sense of community, by coming together and also giving back, while displaying what the band stilll MEANS to Canadians.  Keith Dyck, who hails from Calgary, Alberta, is no different than any other music-loving patriot. He works in the financial sector for Wellington-Altus, and has for some time, raises his family, bangs the drums, swings the odd golf club, reads, travels, and gives back to the community. In this episode we get into when the idea for creating a music festival first hit Keith and his wife Julie square in the face.  If you were one of the lucky ones to see the last tour ever for the Tragically Hip, after Gordon Edgar Downie was diagnosed with Brain Cancer, then you would've witnessed a celebration like no other. It was exciting, sad and tearful, bittersweet, emotional and created warmth with a sense of togetherness as fans watched Gord pour his soul into every lyrical act.  We swap Hip stories in this one, some of our favorite songs, where our love for them got its origins, and how Keith began playing drums later in life, leading to his formation of what he calls a Tribute band which covers The Hip expertly in Trickle Down.  GEDfest was born with the purpose of continuing what the band did for Canadians, it brought us together to watch live performances, as that's what the band was known for, touring. Gedfest, now in its 8th Season will be held in 6 cities including Calgary, Edmonton, Kelowna, Regina, Saskatoon and Winnipeg On October 18th, and 25th. It's likely to continue to spread to Ontario and beyond. The concerts also feature local up and coming acts before the Hip covers take the stage. DO NOT MISS A SHOW.  Each show is dedicated with proceeds going to local Cancer-related charities.  For information on GEDfest and how to buy tickets go to: https://www.gedfest.ca/ Follow Gedfest on: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/gedfest?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet&igsh=ZDNlZDc0MzIxNw== Intro/Outro Tunes: Back on the Farm-Shoot the Lights Out  https://www.stlo.rocks/ Episode Sponsor:  https://lonestardirectional.com/ Location: Studio Luma, Calgary Alberta :  https://www.studiolumayyc.com/

GND#39 Dallas Alexander-The FOOTAGE we almost LOST JTF2 Sniper Legend & Country Music's Rising Star

*CAVEAT-the audio kept dropping out on us, after the fact, so while there are some obvious cuts in here, this episode was too good not to RELEASE! Please be patient with the drops... Dallas Alexander, who hails from right here in Alberta, Canada, rose to his new found fame, initially after appearing on the  @ShawnRyanShow  to speak on his life in the military, obtaining his now infamous World Record farthest shot and what ensued after. His abrupt exit from the Canadian Military after refusing to comply with their COVID19 mandates. We speak of that interview a bit in here... Dallas is now a rising country music star. How the hell did he get here? We get into all kinds of goodies including some hockey talk, seeing as Dallas as it turns out was no slouch on the ice. We also get into some of his work in the Oilfields and we even get into the prospect of Alberta Separating from Canada! The Joint Task Force 2 (JTF2) is a highly secretive and elite special operations unit of the Canadian Armed Forces, specializing in counter-terrorism operations, both at home and abroad. Dallas Alexander and his JTF2 Sniper Team were responsible for landing the world's farthest shot, breaking every record before it. GND#38-Mayor or Bust: Sonya Sharp Claps Back!

Sonya Sharp is running to be Mayor for the City of Calgary, after spending most of her adult life working her way up through the ranks at City Hall. This is her second appearance on the show, and last time she appeared she had yet to decide fully whether throw her hat into the ring or not. Calgary should be grateful she did. Sonya intends to RESCIND the Climate Emergency, previously declared by Jyoti Gondek, on Day 1. She regrets having voted in favor of the Notice of Motion and we dive further into that time. She also intends to RESCIND blanket rezoning, as many of the candidates do. We spend a large portion of this discussion talking about Safety and Crime and the City. She plans to hire 500 new Police Officers. She also CLAPS back at Jeff Davison for accusations of a Conflict of Interest regarding Communities First lead volunteer Marc Henry, and his involvement with Think HQ, a firm currently contracted to Enmax. Lastly, I informed her I was concerned about another Vote-Splitting scenario that seems to be rearing it's ugly head again as we head into yet another divided Calgary Election. I for one am happy Sonya is running for the City of Calgary, I truly believe she has the constituents best interests at heart, as does her team at Communities first, that could help change the voting landscape the City has been craving for so long. Sonya can be found currently knocking on doors, doing live debates, making public announcements and working her tail off to earn our trust. Enjoy this listen, it's important folks!!!! GND#37 Jeff Davison-From Dictatorship to Democracy: A Mayoral Showdown

Jeff Davison is running to be Mayor for the City of Calgary for the second time. He learned a ton from his first time "failure" and we speak on the importance of failure, both in life, and in business. One thing is for certain, he is NOT the same as current Calgary Mayor Jyoti Gondek. Jeff is an entrepreneur and currently serves as the CEO at the Prostate Cancer Centre, a respected Alberta-based health charity. In this role, Jeff leads efforts to provide men with comprehensive clinical support, education, and critical resources — helping them make informed decisions about their health with access to pre- and post-surgery care. We had a great yap covering his earlier years having spent 20 years in the energy sector. Jeff was a already elected to City Council prior from 2017-2021 where he represented Ward 6. (my hood) We speak about his time spent at City Hall, and also focus on some of the rezoning thats happening in the Ward specifically. Jeff wants to RESCIND Blanket Rezoning, he wants to freeze Property Taxes for 4 years, he wants to tackle Safety in a large way and we get into his platform in detail. Jeff is absolute gem, well spoken, kind-hearted and I believe he truly has US, the constituents interests front of mind as priority. He is the kind of change we desperately need in Calgary City Hall!! Jeff can be found currently pounding out the Podcasts as he makes his rounds campaigning in addition to pounding the pavement. GND#36 John Garden-Oilman Unloads On Calgary City Hall

John Garden is a lifelong Oil Patcher having drilled wells all over Western Canada, and all over the world. He has run several of his own companies along the way. Now he finds himself entering new territory as he vies for City Council of Ward 2 in Calgary, Alberta. We had a great yap covering his time spent in the field and then getting down to brass tax. John intends to repeal Blanket Rezoning, and we discuss its affect on residents specifically in Arbour Lake, Calgary, as well as my own area in Ward 6 (aspen, springbank hill) John is also concerned about the safety of Calgarians with crime on the rise, and as it pertains to fire safety. He also is extremely concerned about the affordability and housing crisis. Naturally, we blast Jyoti Gondek for her declaration of the Climate Emergency, and wondering where the hell all that 88bn dollar budget is going to??? John is an astute business man, a rough looking ex oilman, with an even keel temperament about him. John is also a numbers guy, and is trying to make sense of what the hell is going on with our tax dollars. John can be found currently pounding the pavement in his comfy sneakers to win over the residents of his neighbourhood. Keep an eye for the big duster floating around your streets! GND#33 Shane Wenzel Sounds Off On Woke Policies

Shane Wenzel is the President & CEO The Shane Homes Group of Companies based out of Calgary, AB. With a newly added division in Dallas, Texas! Shane, yes the company was named after him, joined his father's home building company at a very young age. He learned the business from the ground up, and he not only built Shane Homes into a juggernaut right here in Calgary, he built his own brand with a faithful following as well. He's a social media creator, a mentor, a podcaster, a public speaker and an active member of the LGBT community. We get into the housing crisis, what the green climate goals federally add to housing costs for the average person. We also touch on Alberta Independence and if that could even work, the importance of Oil and Gas, Mens' Mental Health-being men's mental health awareness month. Shane is also a contributor to that cause. We touch on the dirty politics going on at City Council in Calgary, the blanket rezoning fiasco, AND we discuss Jyoti Gondek's performance, or lack thereof. Shane is a beacon in the community and an important voice, and he's never one to hold back. I absolutely enjoyed this chat, he's a true gentleman and a pillar in this community. GND#32 Michelle Ferreri: "I Was the Only MP in Canada With a Fully Funded 'Never-Michelle' Group"

Michelle Ferreri is the now former Conservative MP Peterborough-Kawartha, Ontario. She is not even a month out of the job, and trust me, she still has a LOT to say. She was ripping through Calgary to watch her beloved Edmonton Oilers on their cup run, so we talk quite a bit about the Oilers, and the significance of what a Stanley Cup win could mean, for Canada. Michelle, still takes pride in the fact her Conservative team, lead by frontman Pierre Poilievre, successfully outed Justin Trudeau. In this episode we cover Alberta Separation and it's oil and gas resources, that she believes is the single biggest issue of our time. Well she came to the right place, because I sit in the same camp. We also dive into her experience leading into running as a candidate, and realizing she was up against a big machine, backed by the Liberal funded media. Michelle talks of her time and experiences with fondness, but also the hate that she felt that was almost insurmountable, and well in the end, it truly was. We also get into some funny business in Canada as it pertains to MAID, and its lobbyists pushing for access and availability to young people with mental illness. As always, Michelle is a pleasure to host and she is an extremely strong voice in Canada for conservatism. I am proud to call her a friend. Enjoy!!!! Jasmin Laine is the host of the hit Youtube podcast "Over Opinionated". The show tackles Canadian politics daily, with the common underlying theme of holding our government to account. The former broadcaster, turned online sensation consistently ranked in the Top 5 in Canada, just behind Joe Rogan for Canadian podcast listenership during the 2025 Federal Election. There is no holding back in this episode as we tackle everything from how she found herself on her own Podcast, dissecting liberal policies, defunding the CBC, what some of the current bills may do for Canadian independent media, Alberta Separation, what it was like to interview Pierre Poilievre and so much more! GND#29 Fluoride in Calgary Tap Water?

Dr. Robert Dickson is a long time Calgary physician. Most importantly he is a health advocate and founder at Safe Water Calgary. Happening very soon, we once again will be putting fluoride back into Calgary's water. Calgary has voted on the hotly contested issue of fluoridation in our city's water supply 7 times dating back to the 1950s! In fact, it's hotly contested everywhere! In a landmark case in the State of California in September 2024, lead attorney Michael Connett smashed out a victory for the people, and a precedence setter! In this case the Judge ruled that thanks to the scientific studies showing fluoride is proven to lower IQ in children, and causes potential harms to all of us, he had no choice but to rule in favour. The federal court in California ruled that the EPA must strengthen regulations for fluoride in drinking water, finding that current levels pose an unreasonable risk to children's developing brains, requiring the EPA to engage in a regulatory response. We will see where this goes... But Dr. Bob, as he's affectionately known as, gives all the goods on the potential risks from ingesting fluoride and at what levels. I learned a ton in this one, and you will too! Stay informed kids! GND#28 Why is Fracking Controversial?

Andrew McMurray is the CEO of Calgary based ShearFRAC. It's a revolutionary company that provides the missing link between completions, geology and reservoir engineering through their unique fracture diagnostic measurement technologies. Their live-streaming technology platform, FracBRAIN®,, displays second-by-second fracture measurements and active fracture guidance to visualize rock response and optimize fracture surface area stimulation operations during each completion stage. Full disclosure, I had to copy and paste some of the first paragraph from their website because I was completely of my depth in this conversation. But Andrew is an exceptional human being who is completely committed to his craft, and he conveyed to me the ins and outs of fracking. In this episode we dive into his path growing up in the Oilpatch, as his father was a Geologist. His school, where naturally we bonded with pride over his time at Acadia University, my alma mater. How Andrew cut his chops working in the field for the Energy Sector and plenty more. I always wondered what the big controversy was surrounding fracking, having only ever read mainly hit pieces presented from main stream media. We get right to it in this one. He also informs me of new technology his company has that is capable of predicting earthquakes, which apparently is happening all the time under our feet in Alberta. It's called the Richter Predictor. Great handle! I foresee great things for the company. Given the tariff situation currently going on between Canada and the United States, I feel its prudent to stay on the energy path currently, to inform and educate as many people as I can. I sure needed this information as well!! You will find this episode extremely informative as Andrew is a character who happens to also be highly talented, well-spoken, wildly intelligent and an all around good family man. Enjoy the yap! GND#27 From Dropout to Founder & CEO Sean Alexander

Sean Alexander is a former Canadian Oil-Patcher turned CEO at Kailani Outdoors. His path to get there was unconventional to say the least. In this episode we tip our toes briefly into Sean's up-bringing, which includes him being forced to live on is own at the age of 16, and having already switched schools 14 times by grade eight. Eventually he would drop out of high school to go make a life for himself.  Sean later found himself working in Corporate Calgary downtown peddling various Oil and Gas services products. He was doing well, and he enjoyed it. But he was always searching for something new, given his uprbringing this kind of makes a lot of sense to always be looking for something. Sean was, as per usual, side hustling some Paddle Boards which were kind of blowing up everwhere frankly. He speaks of his life working on the side out of his garage selling his own paddle boards from China, and going to his day job every morning. Once he got good at the importing/exporting game, he later got his on eye coolers. This is where it truly begins. He became a travelling cooler salesman, but not just any cooler! Everyone knows about the Yeti, well he found this bad boy and tested it himself in his garage, his lab if you will, and discovered this thing was pretty darn comparable, if not the same. But cheaper! BOOM, the hook. $$$ He speaks of immediate sales and not being able to keep up, once he branded his newly formed company, Kailani Outdoors, which in Hawaiin means "Sea, Sky or Heavenly Sea". Once he knew had something and started to blow up, he eventually would find himself raising more capital and even landing a stint on Dragon's Den, we discuss his time on the show. In this episode we also inevitably get into Politics and the Donald Trump tariffs situation in Canada. How Canada desperately needs an election. Mark Carney being the Trudeau clone. The Freedom Convoy. Trumps inauguration. And so much more. Sean's story is truly one of Triumph and Determination. As his story unfolds in front of our eyes, I would hope to see more great things from this young man and suspect we might even see his story told in books perhaps! GND#25 with Caylan Ford-Former UCP Star Candidate & Founder Alberta Classical Academy

Caylan Ford was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta and is the current Founder and owner/operator at her recently expanded Alberta Classical Academy. They're up to 3 locations already in Alberta in a very short amount of time. But how she got here is a story still unfolding. Caylan was one of the brightest up-and-coming star political candidates for the UCP, running for a spot in her riding of Calgary-Mountain View. But a charismatic, and rather dark character would soon emerge to completely ruin her life through a series of bold moves and ridiculous accusations. Karim Jivraj and Caylan struck up a working relationship while both considering their next moves in the political space. They ultimately both decided to relocate from Ontario to Alberta. Caylan got the nod to represent the UCP to run for her riding of Mountain View. But 29 days before the writ drop to announce the election, she received an ominous email from Press Progress saying they had information to suggest she was a racist whom supported "white supremacy" and "echoed white nationalist sentiments" and asked if she cared to comment, within 3 hours. It all arose from lengthy online conversations she'd had over Facebook Messenger some years prior with Karim. We dive into almost every greasy detail and dirty move that not only Karim pulled on Caylan's potential career, but once leaked to the press, CBC, Toronto Star and others simply ran with the story. In 2020 she filed a 7.65 Million defamation claim against the defendants including: CBC, NDP, Toronto Star, Press Progress and a slew of other individuals who did not take the time to check the source for verification. In short, the conversation was taken completely out of context. Calyan found herself unemployable and isolated and lost almost all of her so called "friends" In this episode we also share a clip from her documentary "When the Mob Came". GND#24 with Brittany, Conservative Social Media Darling

Meet Brittany. She is outstanding Social Media content creator, turned political promoter for all things Conservatism. Based on her core values she decided to dive deeper into having more of a voice for the conservative movement in Canada. She found herself pumping messaging for  @canadaproud7022  while garnering hundreds of thousands of views. While most of the responses were positive, with the good always comes the bad of course. She then wedged herself into the BC Elections assisting in door-knocking with her Conservative candidate for the October 19, 2024 vote. She documented much of this and tells me about her experience there. Immediately after this she headed off to the UCP AGM in Red Deer, AB. Again she worked her magic in getting the behind the scenes messaging out and got to meet some of her favorite Politicians such as  @ABDanielleSmith  and  @PierrePoilievre  In this episode we engage in some great banter on the Donald Trump election win, Kamala Harris loss and their social media games. Our thoughts on Justin Trudeau and his obvious hatred towards the west, via their attack on the Energy sector disguised as climate initiatives. What some of her potential next moves might be in regards to her social platforms. What it takes to make great posts that drive engagement or invoke feelings. And our desire as citizens to see more politicians on podcasts thanks to the Joe Rogan special involving Donald Trump, Elon Musk and JD Vance. AND so much more, cso ome along for another great northern discussion! GND#23 with Sonya Sharp Ward 1 Councillor City of Calgary

Sonya Sharp is a Ward 1 born and raised City of Calgary Councillor. She is a rare-breed indeed for two reasons, the first being a City Councillor whom was born and raised in her own Ward, although it does happen from time to time. The second being that, not only does she represent where she has spent her entire life, but she also worked for the City of Calgary for 20 years before deciding to enter into municipal politics. Sonya is a breath of fresh air whom seemingly ALWAYS votes on Notice of Motions downtown Calgary with her constituents in mind. This does not always happen. In this episode we get into the divide at City Hall, and the repetitive nature of almost of ALL of the NOM's brought forward ending in a final vote of 8-6. Some of the local newspapers have dubbed the larger majority voting block "The Hateful Eight". We get into the Green Line Debacle, the Climate Emergency declaration on Day 1 by Mayor Gondek, and what the hell does this even mean. We get into the current Tabled Budget, and of course the famous Water Main Break that occurred in Bowness. Grab the popcorn folks. Sonya has no problems calling things like she see's them and calling people out. It's a fantastic discussion. Could she be Calgary's next Mayor???? GND#21 with Heidi McKillop President & CEO ASN Productions Ltd.

Generation Green is the latest documentary from Heidi McKillop and ASN Productions. She is a proud transplanted Albertan from the maritimes, with a true passion for the west and western interests. In this episode we trace Heidi's unorthodox journey into filmmaking, and then get right down to brass tax. We dissect Generation Green, which is available on youtube now. It begins with a focus on the big green push to a renewable future, but at what cost? It's a fantastic and well-balanced documentary, that ultimately becomes a film about citizens and how industrial projects can infringe on our everyday lives. As she goes on her investigative journey it takes her to Waterton National Park, where a massive wind turbine project, the Riplinger Wind Project from Trans Alta was proposing to build 37 wind turbines. This did not make the locals happy in the slightest, and as a journalist she ends up getting to know the determined folk of the areas that could end up affected . She dives even further into the renewable rabbit hole as she speaks with the Executive Chairman of the African Energy Chamber, NJ Ayuk,  on the poor working conditions in the Cobalt mining industry, a necessary ingredient for lithium ion batteries for EV's. Slave labour and corruption are rampant there, not to mention the mining industry in the Congo is primarily China-owned.  Some questions for us all-Are solar panels the answer, and are wind turbines the answer to climate change? Is climate change real? We dive deep into this conversation. What she ultimately discovers during her research for the film is that any new alternative energy source has only been augmented by fossil fuels, but it's a step. Is it necessary? Maybe. Should we always aim to be better in our treatment of the planet? 100% yes. Should the renewable sector be scrutinized to the same due diligence needed during the approval process that already applies to the energy sector? Also 100% yes. And what happens at the end of life for solar panels and wind turbines? Are they recyclable? Sounds like a future problem that needs to be handled now. This is something Alberta Premier Danielle Smith has been an advocate for, and we speak of that in here as well. Please join me in this fantastic conversation primarily about Generation Green, and if you're a fan of documentaries, you definitely need to put this on your lists of must-watch! GND#20 with Claire Masikewich Director of Marketing & Childhood Cancer Advocate

Claire Masikewich had the seemingly normal storybook tale of a healthy young family of four. Until the fateful day of May 26, 2023.  Sloane Masikewich, 5 and half years old and the youngest sibling to sister Indy, wasn't feeling very well one may long weekend. Her signs and symptoms didn't seem too serious for anybody to fuss about, but she kept on getting worse including fever, body aches and pains. No big deal right?  What started as a routine 811 call to Alberta Health Link, then a visit to Alberta Children's Hospital, it soon became apparent there was much more going on inside of little Sloane's body than met the eye.  She was devastatingly diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma the next day, a rare and high risk form of cancer among children. There are only 1500 cases annually in Canada, or up to 237 in Alberta alone. She has had a long road of surgeries, chemo, radiation, stem cell transplants and immunotherapy since this time.  The question coming to mind now for the family is, why does there seem to be a lack of funding directly forwarded to pediatrics for research into childhood cancer, and to what risk are we leaving our children given these extreme doses to beat these diseases. Though Sloane is in remission a year later almost to the day, she is not out of the woods yet. Claire has become an extremely vocal voice in the childhood advocacy space starting up campaigns such as "Strong Like Sloane", and "Heartbeats for Hope"  In this episode we tackle the entire journey for the Masikewich family.  For more information on Sloane and her journey through Strong Mum on instagram follow: @therealclairem To donate to the Strong Like Sloane Campaign, where a large contingent of runners run on behalf of Sloane, 182 to be exact, and where Sloane was going to run a year previous to being diagnosed: https://raceroster.com/events/2024/74775/servus-calgary-marathon-2024/pledge/team/594604 Intro/Outro Tunes: Back On the Farm-Shoot the Lights Out https://stlo.rocks/ Episode Sponsor: Lonestar Directional Drilling: https://lonestardirectional.com/ Location: Studio Luma, Calgary, Alberta Canada: https://www.studiolumayyc.com/

GND#18 with Dr. William Kent-Cardiac Surgeon, Libin Cardiovascular Institute

Dr. William (Bill) Kent saved my life, twice. That is his job.  Being a cardiac surgeon, a Director of Surgical, and a Clinical Assistant Professor-Cardiac Sciences at the University of Calgary, Alberta, Canada it's safe to say Dr. Bill is one busy guy. And after this phenomenal discussion on everything hearts, that is putting it lightly. We are lucky to have him here in our backyards saving hearts, working out of the world renowned Libin Cardiovascual Institute. We go through in some detail, both of my heart surgeries, because how often do you get to speak in a studio setting with your own Heart Surgeon! What an awesome opportunity.  Back, in the summer of 2015 I was told I would need to have corrective valve repair done to my mitral valve, and the best option would be a procedure called Minimally Invasive Valve Repair. It worked. Sort of. We discuss together that sometimes medicine isn't perfect, and that my first surgery eventually failed. I would need to go back in 5 years later, almost to the day, but this time open heart surgery, and it would be a total valve replacement to fix the issue. Luckily I'm a pro at having surgery, having had 16 major surgeries in my lifetime for various injuries. What can I say I played hard!  In this episode we ALSO get into Dr. Kent's long history of schooling and education and his path to Calgary, heart health, preventative measures, signs and symptoms, obesity, the workload of a heart surgeon, future innovation, the Marvel that is the Libin Institute here in Calgary, the Libin family and their generous donations, and so much more. Having gone through their care, I've become passionate about saving hearts and spreading the word on the #1 global killer on the planet, with 17.9 million deaths annually. We have a lot of work to do! Enjoy the listen......I know I sure did! Kevin Humeny is the Managing Director, and CFO of Parcel B Limited. It's a savvy Calgarian Private Equity Company that has been making some terrific headway in that space. He also happens to be my brother in law! I am a lucky guy to have been able to welcome Kevin into the family some 6 years ago now. K2, as he is affectionately referred to around the households, has had quite the past. Kevin is a walking numbers machine, having been a C.F.A. for quite some time, and this has helped him excel in all his business ventures. You wouldn't even begin to comprehend, however, that he started out as a Professional Motocross Racer in Canada! We rip through Kevin's racing journey, and all the crippling injuries he sustained from the rigours of the circuit. In this episode we dive into many of his ventures including engineering, directional well planning in the oil and gas industry, then onto capital budgets for drilling programs at Conoco Phillips and Cenovus. Then onto his newest adventures where he has put is skill set to proper use in buying companies and helping manage them to optimize returns. Aside from this, as always, we get into politics, the federal budget, tackling orphan wells, and the big green push. We run through quite a few informative slides (viewable in the YOUTUBE version of this one), from drilling horizontal wells, to emissions numbers and china's ghg output, and inevitably into politics where we look at the bloating public sector vs private sector decline. There's some nice shots of him back in the racing days as well. Lots of nuggets in here folks, I sincerely hope you enjoy!!! This guy is a sharp cat!!!      Dan McLean grew up living the farm life just outside of Camrose, Alberta, Canada. He grew up learning the values of work ethic and respecting others. Fast forward to his earlier working years, he took a chance on selling golf-carts, of all things. And he never looked back. His business rapidly exploded as he couldn't keep his farmland full of enough golf carts to keep up with the orders. His crowining achievement was winning a successful bid to work the Vancouver Olympics in 2010. He eventually sold the business and decided what the heck to do now that his three children were all grown up. Dan McLean decided to enter politics, and we dive right in on this one. He had always contemplated with the idea of politics, as his father himself ran at one time only losing by a few votes. So Dan entered into the Calgary Municipal election in 2021 and defeating long time incumbent Diane Colley-Urquhart....by a landslide. Dan is known to be extremely outspoken, and a man of principle. We get into everything from the muddy world of municipal politics, the botched Calgary Flames arena deal, Jyoti Gondek, and her climate agenda, Dan's voting record, the Hateful 8, and most importantly we really beat up the current council plans for the Blanket Rezone that will go through to Public Hearings in Calgary on April 22nd 2024. He had followed his Father, Mike Vigen, and his grandfather Ralph Vigen since he was a young cowboy with a whip in his back pocket hoping to just get tall enough to "reach the horn" (on a saddle) and to race like his family did before him. Many years later after spending almost 15 years as an Outrider on the racing circuit, he found himself thrust into the wagon. He never looked back. 2023 was an epic year for Chanse as he claimed the World Championship, and a broke a 61 year old record to boot. We get into the entire history of the sport of Chuckwagon Racing as it pertains in particular to the Calgary Stampede. The generational bloodline that is Family Vigen. The treatment of the horses as a roster, but more importantly as part of their family. We get into operational costs and what goes into running a stable of a team of this size. We ALSO run over a clip that made National news whereby Chanse had to save a runaway Wagon during a race back in 2007-"Indiana Jones-type shit" We talk purse money in comparison between certain rodeos, advertising and sponsorhips, the grind of the circuit, and finally his incredible 2023 run. GND#14 with Aaron Volpatti Ex NHLer/CognitivePerformanceCoach/Author/Speaker

Aaron Volpatti is the author of his current book Fighter-Defying the NHL Odds, and Cognitive Performance Coach/Speaker. Aaron grew up like most Canadian kids dreaming of making it big in hockey while living in the picturesque town of Revelstoke, British Columbia. While admittedly not the most talented kid around on the ice, once he ventured to the bigger cities, it became apparent to him he had a different kind of gift. This gift being toughness. However, it wasn't until later in life, entering his second year of junior hockey for the Vernon Vipers, where his toughness would be put to the ultimate test. We go through the terrifying events that took place that fateful summer where he would endure burns to over 40% of his body. A simple summer kick off and an end of hockey season party-turned nightmare for all. We go through in detail the trauma he suffered and the long, long road to recovery. While in hospital, Aaron had nothing but time and loneliness with his thoughts. The events of that summer, whether he knew it or not, would eventually unleash a "superpower" deep within him. We go through the many other traumas that he had to go through along the way. For a kid that likely had no business making it to the NHL, he feels his newfound superpower, through his new Visualization techniques he discovered along the way, he ultimately was able to manifest his goals. This happens several times in his life. This is an important listen, an important read of his book, and I urge everyone to at least check out Aaron's business to gain some insight into what he offers to help people achieve greatness!  Perhaps he can help you, your child, your friend or your organization.
