Dawn Buschert is a former farmer-turned homesteader. She lost her original farm due to unfortunate circumstances both in her personal life, and also in business. The bloated bureaucracy and ever-increasing regulatory on the farming and agriculture sectors in Canada has slowly been strengthening its grip on our farmers. We dive into some of the issues affecting our food pricing in Canada, and the recent traceability regs that have put a burden onto the already full work days of our farmers. This is especially concerning for our smaller farms in this country. It's added both fear, and confusion across the ag industry. Dawn now runs her own Podcast called "Dawn's Dirt" where she hopes to teach people how to grow their own food, a true farm to table business from their homes, or even their apartments! She is also a staunch advocate for farming in general, but most importantly she is trying to help stop the deterioration in the small-farm businesses.
