Go Higher - Resolving Everyday Conflict Series (Kevin Warner)

from Mayfield Baptist Church Podcast · host MBC

This week in church, our special guest and previous Mayfield Baptist Pastor, Kevin Warner (representing Peacewise), continued our new series, Resolving Everyday Conflict, with his message, Going Higher, emphasising that though conflict is an inevitable, hot issue, the core of the Gospel is reconciliation. Kevin introduced the first gospel principle for constructive conflict resolution: Glorify God, using the simple framework, God, Me, You, Us. He challenged listeners to make their first and constant question, "How can I please and honour God in this situation?" This requires moving away from the default responses of avoidance (peacekeeping) or attack (peacebreaking), which are fuelled by the old sinful nature. Instead, by applying the truth of Ephesians 4:1-3, we are called to be peacemakers who fight for unity with humility and patience, trusting that conflict is redeemable when handled with dependent obedience to Christ.Ephesians 4:3, 17-32; James 4; 1 Corinthians 10:31-33.Let Us Know You Are Listening
