Go Plug Yourself Back to School Special 2023

from 9to5 (dotcc) Podcast Network (Montreal)

Montreal is a college town so this is a college episode! No it’s not. What was supposed to happen was we would be joined be our host in absentia Inés Anaya and we were going to catch up with her and it was going to be a grand old time. But then the Toronto subway system spoiled our plans. Honestly apparently she didn’t get home until over an hour and a half later than she anticipated. Another win for Montreal I guess. So instead it’s just Chris Venditto and I talking about all manner of pop culture and current events. Chris says these are his favorite episodes. Why do I even bother booking guests when this whole show could just be Chris and I talking about Taylor Swift and how terrible many, many professional athletes are? That’s the show now guys! I kid, I kid (or do I?). Who’s going to cheer the currently unnamed Montreal women’s hockey team with me in January? Anyhow, enjoy the show, we’ll be back with a guest in 2 weeks family. Credit Where Credit is Due As always, a big thank you to the providers of our theme song: Leighland Beckman and Aural Turpitude! Chris Venditto is another funny person in Montreal who you can see all over the place and if you don’t want to miss him take the stage you should follow him on all the socials. He’s @chrisvenditto on Twitter and Instagram so you should follow him on those two things. He also produces shows with the guys at Perfect Bite Productions who you should also follow on Instagram and on Facebook. Keith does all sorts of things here on 9to5.cc, he works with the other founders on 9to5 (illustrated), co-hosts our two podcasts: The 9to5 Entertainment System and Go Plug Yourself and sometimes blogs here as The Perspicacious Geek. The move towards more renewables in our energy systems complicates matters even further, requiring the development of an integrated power grid and continuous and steady transformation of the UK power system. Network flows must be managed reliably under uncertain demands, uncertain supply, emerging network technologies and possible failures and, further, prices in related markets can be highly volatile. Mathematicians working with engineers and economists, can make significant contributions to address such issues, by helping to develop fit-for-purpose models for next generation energy systems. These interdisciplinary approaches are looking to address a range of associated problems, including modelling, prediction, simulation, control, market and mechanism design and optimisation.
