Go Plug Yourself – Ice Storm 2023

Ice Storm 2023 means that your favorite Montreal arts and entertainment podcast that doesn’t have a guest this week! Nobody had power last week and we’re all kind of recovering! So yeah – instead of a regular episode featuring a guest this episode features the wonderful Chris Venditto and myself just hanging out and shooting the shit like those kids on That 70’s Show. I keep hearing people call it “Ice Storm 2023” and this is the first time where I found myself thinking “are we far enough along into the century that we can stop saying ’20’ in front of the year?” Could we just say “Ice Storm ’23” now? Maybe it is time. Chris and I also dig into Wrestlemania 39 (which we also talked about in 9ES if you’re keeping score) but we spend a little more time talking about the merger with UFC and where the booking might go from here. Finally, this past weekend saw the inaugural edition of Gigglefest which found itself more Downtown than in the Sud-Ouest due to the aforementioned Ice Storm 2023. And would you believe another local comedy fest is around the corner? The NDG Comedy Fest is coming up fast and they need your help! The beautiful Oscar Peterson Concert Hall is booked for none other than Bowser and Blue with Joey Elias and our sweet boy Walter needs some help securing some funding.
