GOD KEEPS HIS ANCIENT PROMISES TO A REBELLIOUS NATION (Jud. 1)

The book of Judges records the chaotic period Israel's history that followed the death of Joshua, during which the nation entered a period of cyclic rejection of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob to worship the evil Canaanite deities. But true to His promises, YAHWEH kept Israel from spiritual disaster by sending "Judges" who restored the nation to genuine faith following each period of apostasy until the nation installed a King, who was a "type" of the promised Messiah.
