Gog and Magog_ Are We Seeing the Beginning

from BIBLE STORIES REBORN · host Bible Stories Reborn

A coalition of nations led by a figure named Gog attacks Israel from the far north. God destroys them with earthquake, plague, and fire. The battle takes seven years to clean up. The world watches in horror. Many biblical scholars believe this prophecy is not centuries away. They believe it is unfolding right now.In this episode, I uncover the prophecy of Gog and Magog from Ezekiel 38 and 39. The nations named are Meshech, Tubal, Gomer, Beth Togarmah—ancient kingdoms located in modern-day Turkey, Iran, Russia, and the Caucasus region. The leader Gog is described as the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal. Some scholars identify Rosh as Russia. Ezekiel writes that Gog will come from the uttermost parts of the north. The only landmass directly north of Israel that extends to the uttermost parts is Russia. The prophecy states Gog will invade Israel after the Jews have returned from exile and are living in unwalled villages, prosperous and unsuspecting. Israel today is a wealthy nation with a powerful military. But its cities are not walled. Its people are prosperous. And the nations named in Ezekiel are aligning against it. Turn down the lights, put on your headphones, and press play because the coalition forming today may be the one Ezekiel described 2,500 years ago.
